Genuinely despise the 6.1 changes. Gave it a honest attempt to like it, I believe the requested phrase was " Give it a try ", and it's terrible a far-cry from what we used to have.
Recently did community service. Helping players in PF (re-)clear Pandæmonium savage fights and Extreme's. Endslinger I am still practicing the 5 head mechanic. Big moments in fights just have less weight to the execution. Mechanics are still the same, but rotation execution feels spoon-fed. My practice now feels equally comparable to a (off-role) Samurai player that only has played for less then a day.
Helping players level through PF, dungeon queues short - I find myself in ARR casting no Kaiten AoE rotations and having to fill it with Shinten cause my Kyuten isn't available pre-Lv62. Even if I had that, my Tenka Goken feels weightless now, no oomph or impact. Only to help players do EW MSQ at the Tower of Babil and finding myself throwing Circle AoE's, standing 99% of the time stationary... utterly boring compared to what I used to experience.
The logic behind these changes barely makes any sense in terms of " Can you clear content? " cause I doubt anyone more or less difficulty clearing content on Samurai before or after. Those who didn't care to learn won't even care about these changes to begin with. And a small percentage likes these changes because either they are lazy to learn, or they love being able to parse easier, or like the reduced RNG damage variance and fluctuations that could have been addressed without ruining the playstyle that many of us fell in love with to begin with.
It's borderline impressive... to be able to have had something so enjoyable, something I finally found I like the most and the only thing I like playing, to feel so draining to play. I tried other jobs, I don't like other jobs, I don't like their playstyle's nor aesthetics I like Samurai. I loved it in 6.08, I hate it now in 6.1 and beyond.
+1 the OP
