That's referring to friend list removal but similar concept for blacklisting. They basically care about the feelings of the person being blacklisted and expect us to be able to work things out like adults or take it to GMs for harassment.

I will say, as someone who has had a GM get involved in a situation I had with a stalker, they do help. Just not sure how efficient they are in general with getting to all cases in a timely manner.

That seems like a really strange reason. I've had people try asking my friends why I removed/blocked them but usually if it was warranted (i.e. certain kinds of harassment, stalking, etc.), my friends follow suit in also blocking or just refuse to respond. I feel like that makes sense for why removing someone from your friendslist doesn't remove you from theirs, but not for blacklisting but god knows. But yeah, I would really love to just have a "I never want to see or hear from or look at this player again" option

To be fair, even if they did block the ability to teleport to your estate, they could just look on the directory for your address and go anyway and stand outside on your front lawn...speaking from experience. Also, I'm sure it would be a nightmare to implement for FCs if they account for everyone's blacklist. I could understand for private homes but FCs would be messy. You can also just lock the door to your estate as a precaution (I had to do thst with my apartment for a while until my situation was resolved).

Also, situations like what you mentioned (telling multiple people to blacklist and ignore said person) are the reason why they care about the one being blocked.

They were admittedly quicker than I had expected given my particular case (this time) wasn't severe, it was like maybe 24-48h tops before I got a "Hey so we're looking into it" response, and then ~12-16h after that I more or less got confirmation that they did something because the person returned to my estate while I was afk to make it known that they'd done something, LOL

I don't generally ever tell anyone who to blist or ignore specifically. Usually if it's something severe/worrying I'll give a broad warning as a just in case; like in sexual harassment cases or stalking other female players, etc. and advise people, then tell them that they're free to continue interacting/doing whatever with the person. If I just find someone annoying or it's something that only bothers me, I don't generally bother anyone with it.

I don't mean for it to account for EVERYONE's blacklist though- just having one for the estate in particular or work off the leader's blist or something. I know it doesn't 100% resolve everything, since I've blocked people and had them, somehow, find and stand on me in the middle of the Azim Steppe of all places. I know they can't account for literally every possibility but it just feels so weird that you can block someone and then still have them able to run in to an estate you own and, for example, write in the book. I hate the idea of having to literally just lock our door because we have other friends from other FCs that'll pop by for a quick hello or to hang out- so it feels bad to have to lock/unlock the doors to let them in and out, especially since the visits are random.

Oh hey, you had one of those too then. Mine went so far as to make a doppelganger of my Miqo with my old name and follow me around zones.

I also get the logic regarding FCs but I'd still see people calling it unfair if only leaders were able to blacklist people from finding them via estate, while the members just have to sit and deal. Plus, even if they did implement a thing where blacklisted people cant enter an estate, stalkers can still just sit and chill in the front yard to their hearts content. There's no real solution to it with the way housing is designed with open neighborhoods.

Yeah- it's unfortunate, thankfully mine didn't go as far as yours (with me), but, I'm still dealing with the aftermath of 1-2 of his main victims who were displaced because of him.

I think FCs already kind of have a problem with that anyway- at least some large ones. One I used to be a part of had decent responses to stuff like that, but sometimes if it was just considered "drama" or couldn't be proven either way, then the parties would have to just kind of learn to co-exist with eachother in the same space. Usually it culminated in the injured party just leaving because they couldn't deal with the existence of the other person. Maybe it's just my wish for even a grain more protection than we currently have. I hate having to lock friends out to keep creeps away; it makes me sad and makes the issues more isolating for the victims, imo (as I'm sure you know too). Even if it's just personals, or something, your home should be your safe place- you shouldn't have to lock out the people you care about just to keep out another person- which, I know still doesn't address the lawn-camping, but it's at least a step up from "all or nothing", I guess.

A friend of mine is still dealing with the anxiety of having a stalker looming around her server, contacted gms, they wouldn't do anything about it, they had a falling out after getting EB'd in game and it led to really creepy behaviour, and you guessed it, can't restrict or remove their EB tp access either, as long as they don't remarry themselves.

this game NEEDS a better block system, never had stalking issues like this in other mmos affect me or my friend group, but here it's far too easy and the GMs don't do anything about it half of the time.

Well, wouldn't your friend marrying someone else make their stalkers ring ineffective? Could have it be an FC member or another friend that wants the stuff that comes with marriage. I don't have a ton of knowledge on the deep details of how rings work (since all of my EB breakings have been mutual or on the end of my ex spouse) but you'd think if one gets remarried it would make the others ring null and void.

Obviously it shouldn't be the way it is, in terms of how rings work. But trying to think of a quick solution.

So; it's a bit weird and, as you said, you'd think it would just... make the ring null. However: No, actually. The divorced partner's ring still works, unless they themselves turn the ring in. A friend of mine has been EB'd several times and my ex husband (irl and in game) still has a functional ring as well, at least last I talked with him. It's incredibly strange. Afaik, it doesn't even tell the other player they've been divorced, much like blocking and blacklisting. This is the kind of stuff that makes me really scratch my head.
