    I totally support the idea of vuln shields or something else to be done regarding S and SS hunts. Light might be the most DC that is currently suffering from early pulls and ninja trolling regarding hunts to the extent that some would intentionally pull SS hunt minions far away so that the SS hunt fails to spawn, ruining it on everyone else with absolutely zero gain on personal and community levels, and that happened more than once yesterday, let alone the number of times it happened this month. Of course, this is but one of many issues that are causing hunts to be among the top content in terms of toxicity and trolling.
    I have already made a thread regarding these issues a while ago and sent it in the form of a suggestion to the support, and sadly as you can see some players would fight tooth and nail to call it unnecessary and that hunts shouldn't be for anyone beyond spawners. Wonder if they're the trolls and early-pullers who're causing the issues to begin with.

    As someone has mentioned above. Sha of anger is a prime example of a world boss that Blizzard gave a vuln shield.
    It's also stupid to compare S hunts with world bosses. Yes they require a certain number of players to beat. Yes they're powerful bosses in the overworld. But they're not days-long spawns. Also I think we all know how high the toxicity in WoW is. Would it be wise to follow their steps?

    ZNMs from XI. Look it up, that was the best of both worlds when it came to rare spawns/hunts.

    In FFXIV, you need to actually spawn these things, by doing things with exceptions of a couple of self spawners, in wow all you needed to do was camping.

    Played other games with world bosses in that would randomly spawn though, won stoop down to ever play WoW though, tried it... boring...

    The problem is the "intended" way is bad. Very few people want to do it that way. It breeds player conflict and arguments. It's also contradictory in that they want Hunts to limited to whoever was in the zone at the time, but also have SS ranks, 1000+ S rank achievements and enabled Hunts to work cross world, which is designed more for large scale organization. Not to mention that anything which builds a sense of community should be encouraged in an MMO.

    Hunts are neglected. Whether it's working as intended or not, the content badly needs some attention, rethinking and QoL.

    I'm a huge fan of instanced BCNM fights like that. I even started a thread on it way back.

    Agreed; there is certainly an elegant solution somewhere. The idea that they can't at the very least have S ranks pop more frequently or at the very least reliably at a set time is just janky to me. The concept of a NM that has a 12 hour respawn time with a 16 hour window it might pop anywhere inside is just a lot of nonsense I had hoped left behind in ye-old-MMOs of yesteryear. ESPECIALLY when it's one that everyone can gank at the same time.

    In Guildwars, you could theoretically be doing world bosses all day long and you eventually stop because you've had your fill and loaded your bags with loot, not because you're bored out of your mind waiting and/or rage quitting because it finally popped while you took a quick shower.

    Isn't it a little early for this thread? Don't we usually get this complaint after a patch when hunts are popular for two weeks and people are extra salty they missed?


    S rank for me never worked the way I thought it should. They could have went the route of other games and had a portal that everyone zones into and when its full bugger off. I would prefer something you spawn like map mobs. So you earn the location to S rank however SE wants. Get a Group of 24 go spawn and kill it. Clearly too many people get salty if they don't get credit and can't play well with others. Also the spawn conditions aren't exactly nice to people who play in smaller windows.

    ZNMs are a different beast than BCNMs. You need to farm certain items and trade said items to an area in the wild to spawn a rare monster. Said rare monster then has a chance to drop an item that can spawn the next tier of rare monsters. I believe it went all the way to rank 4 and then you would need a drop from each rank 4 to spawn the big man, pandemonium warden. At least the ZNM system might loosen the grip early pullers have if the drop rate of the spawning items are kept fairly rare.

    Did they ever change anything about hunts since its inception?
    I feel like people have been complaining for years, but nothing has ever been changed or "fixed"
    So its prob best to focus on other content if there are things about that you don't enjoy, because its not going to change ^^"

    This. Hunts are meant to be contested content but I think they don't realize contested content doesn't work as well in their setup here as it did in older MMOs like EQ and FFXI.
