The two are nothing alike and there is no need to get snarky about which game came first either.
Go read up about phasing, basically it's a process where a player can only see certain aspects of a game that the server allows it to.
Player 1 may go to an area and see a destroyed village, Player B can go to the same area and see a newly built village based on the progression of his quests.
Both players are still in the same area on the world map.

I've noticed this with a lot of the recent quests in WoW and a few other MMO's doing the same thing. I think it's a great thing, It adds a whole new level of depth to the game. The two are nothing alike and there is no need to get snarky about which game came first either.

@Catapult I kind of wish I was around during that time just so I can get that sparkler. I'm a sucker for bright flashy lights. I think that was during my self imposed 6 month exile from the game.
Hm, I see. I've seen you around every now and then on "Seraphim Corner". Yeah, I've made up my mind on something. I'm going to postpone my hunt of Holy Dragoon and hunt you down for that sparkler. Yep, that's exactly what I'll do. See you later~ *Evil Laughter*

Oster, you NEED that sparkler. Come and catch me! (before I catch you first... *evil laughter*)
Posting in a Rokien thread.

I know when I had been playing, I did a "Merry christmas" thing, where I made a bunch of items, and gave them out to people.
