Which. I'm curious where that expectation even came from considering the close to zero information we have on it at this point. Did I miss something? Like I haven't even heard enough to make it sound remotely interesting to me lol

People heard "private island" and assumed instanced housing. There was also a question asked by a streamer, I believe Meoni, and Yoshi answered in the vein of: there will be placable buildings or something like that. So the community exploded and went off on the: "We're finally getting instanced housing" train.

However, it was also stated to lower our expectations significantly because it's not going to be instanced housing...or housing at all the way we know now. I've always gotten a Stardew Valley vibe from it from that point forward, like our own "farm".

Whoever thinks it's going to be like the housing we have now definitely needs to relax because it's not going to be that. We wouldn't have been told to damper our expectations months in advance if it was going to be a copy of the housing system we have in place already.

I've seen quite a few people, including streamers, claim it'll be instancced housing with nothing more than wishful thinking. Granted, I've also seen streamers talk like IS were going to come out in 6.0, or 6.1, when the real date before the last LL was "at some point in the 6.x series"

The last LL did mention there'll be some customization, specifically placeable buildings, though I'm thinking it'll still be severely limited like you can only choose which buildings out of a limited pool and where to place them.
