This isn't even a FFXIV problem, it's a SE problem. We had the same thing back in FFXI which was released well before xiv was even a doodle on someone's napkin. They are so scared of punishing the wrong person, that they punish no one. Just like they are so scared of telling us something they cannot deliver, they tell us nothing and they are so sure of themselves they ignore their customer's feedback. SE, for the large corporation it is, just cannot seem to get customer service even remotely right. It's true that the customer is not always right, but that doesn't mean that every single one needs to be ignored.

You are likely just out of luck and have to continue to deal with it or move on.
But in XI we had fun things like the Goblin Bounty Hunters and "the great salvage purge". The latter half was real funny. SE needs to make more funny moments like that.
