One of the things thus game lacks is proper Midcore content and the only thing crippling it are the dev's bad habit of carrying players who don't want to learn how to play the game. The Easy and Very Easy modes in Instanced Duties are blatant evidence of that, plus the way certain jobs have been gutted to the point of being almost useless in group content or overturned to the point they can solo group content on their own (Tanks and Healers).
Other than that, it's a good game. The devs just need to learn to not lean so much into catering to casuals and make things more balanced between casual and haddcore content so we can finally get some proper Midcore content in this game and players who refuse to learn how to play the game are actually forced to do so, otherwise they cannot progress through the content they like.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->SarcasmI don't know what game you've been playing, but this is all pretty... bordering on objectively absent from this game. Also, on the underlined point, they're designing the game to be more solo oriented, so that's straight wrong. Is this bait? Might've gotten me.
EDIT: To be clear, the game is still quite good and has a lot of praise-worthy aspects, but it's none of these. In fact, many of these virtues stated in your post are things they need to improve upon.
-Your head-
Yes, thank you. It was acknowledged here. Thirty minutes ago.
Try "reading" next time.

The fact it took you that long is still nothing short of amazing, plus the people upvoting it created such a mindblown moment of lameness that I couldn't stop myself. I apologize, but I won't take it back because it still made laps around you and yours.

... History doesn't matter, races don't matter, glammour doesn't matter... what am I even doing here? Nothing matters after all.[...]The truth is that housing doesn't matter and savage doesn't matter. Heck, crafting technically doesn't matter (unless you actually keep up with the grinding and make your own leveling gear). Someone can just play the entire game through and then put it down after the latest normal content is done. [...]

Well sure, as long as you invalidate things you don't care about, of course the game's good. Why, let's invalidate the story and the combat while we're at it. There, belissimo *chef kiss*, now it's the perfect game. For some reason, I feel like someone needs to say this amongst the deluge of random threads complaining about literally every slight the game has because they hit end game and have nothing left but the grindy parts.

Like out of all the threads posted about issues, the only one that really feels like it could be a valid point is the one with the healers because you feel the healer issues going through the entire game and not just end game.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

Okay, so lets just take a minute here. You don't like the story, and you don't like the combat. The combat is literally a tab target mmo and unless there is something a bit more specific in there than the better question is why are you playing this game to begin with? Did you just get forced into it or something?
You want to see bad, how about Infestation: Survival Stories, Allods Online, Dungeons and Dragons online, Black Desert Online (sorry PVP lovers but this game is absolutely bad...), Shroud of the Ripoff... I mean shroud of the Avatar, and of course Marvel Heroes online, because nothing beats a game that revamped basically every game system it had, released on two consoles, and then closed down a few months afterwards.
Sorry but FFXIV is a solid game that has some issues, not a bad game. And saying the combat is worse than some of the games mentioned above has got to be the worst ignorance I've seen in ages.
Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention Tree of Savior. It was supposed to be a spiritual successor to Ragnarok online and then it turned out to be a crappy WoW clone.

Are you asking me or yourself those questions...cuz I'm not the one who said a bunch of things didn't matter in the game?
Maybe I should've added /s to my post but it seemed so obvious at the time...
