Good thing professional environments don't hire petulant, short-sighted and overgrown children. Let's break down the source of frustration since apparently you have the logical reasoning of a raw fish and need it done for you:
>People make a request of the state of a certain thing after an overhaul
>It gets ignored for a year and some change.
>The opinions grow more unified, creating a massive mega-thread and even beginning to spill over in other area.
>You continue to ignore it for a few more years.
>One of their questions, formatted and rather politely constructed, makes it to your table on a PR stint.
>You insult all of them. You tell them to get lost.
And now you feel in the right to spite people who might be a bit pissed off you spat in their face earlier? Ignoring the fact that you really shouldn't be spiting the people that, y'know, give you money, you probably shouldn't feel in the right to also spite people you've actively told to f- off. But no. The only thing that matters is you. As long as you get your way, player or dev, screw everyone else. This is that attitude that I'm sick of from the both of you. If you think I was always this abrasive, you're a developmental failure. There was a time I was a lot nicer when trying to make my points, much like how there was a time the frustrations weren't so loud and infectious. But you've not only the nerve to continue ignoring it, but you go on to think you're in the right to spite people you would wrong in this scenario.
Get bent, loser.
You act as if we don't know that other sources exist.so we should recognize that our feedback is just one source of information the game devs have that they use to help determine their course and not assume that all other sources mirror the feedback we're giving and thus not expect them to always cater to every piece of feedback we submit, even if it seems unanimous.
Except that, outside of other social media, actually, we don't know that they exist.
And here's the thing: am I supposed to care that someone else might not agree with what other people are saying? If so, how can I care if they don't make their stances known? Certainly there is social media for me to look at to see what other people are thinking in a general sense, but since Squeen is telling people to go to the official forums to give feedback and comments, and not saying that there's anywhere else to go leave the feedback and comments, then all I really should care about is the Official Forums and what gets said here.
And if a vast majority are saying one thing on these forums, with just one or two detractors popping up over time to troll the sentiment with their oppositional claptrap, then, while a true 100% unanimity isn't created, the sample is still not as insignificant as you're trying to make it out to be.
Or else the Dev team is, again, potentially lying or being disingenuous, of which we'll never actually know because we can't monitor them and they certainly aren't going to tell us.
As much as I mind your reasoning, I would like to ask you refrain yourself from being overtly abusive with your language. Calling someone a 'developmental failure' isn't something I'm about to let slide. You can name call all you like though, but it's not going to help you get your ideas to the side. Many, MANY people do not regard others who will speak like this in an abusive or downplaying manner, toxic positivity or no.Good thing professional environments don't hire petulant, short-sighted and overgrown children. I really don't care if you care, tbh. I am simply hoping to deflate the 'WE ARE ALL THAT EXISTS' ego by pointing out that, in fact, you are not. And whether or not you care about the 'not you people', they exist and the DEVELOPERS care about the 'not you' people.
If community where heard, we would have things like DPS meter, Buff Timer, better UI and many other quality of life improvements.
I like how, by ignoring the bulk of their point, you said that our opinion her didn't matter despite being under developer instructions to bring feedback here. Somehow, following instructions is ego. Just incoherent nonsense in the wind.
I'll be honest: Honey's right in this regard because they have said many times in the past to go to the Official Forums to tell them feedback. Yet we haven't gotten feedback from them except only every 3-4 months. Also, Honey is not thinking in that mindset - instead, they are simply laying down facts. We've got social media, we've got Reddit, we've got Twitter, Facebook, etc. Yet, they don't take their feedback from Social Media necessarily; they take it from the Official Forums since that is their medium for feedback. All social media really does is affect XIV's PR. That's it.
I've used and watched the Forums for years and there are some things that were implemented from the Forums, and other things that are more often than not put off that are important because it's not feasible for them or they simply don't want to touch it with a 32 ft. pole for a while. All in the name of keeping their casual base happy. If you're unsure on the subject, perhaps you should go watch some stuff from Misshapen Chair's video on how they're hurting their Veteran Players.
Of course they're going to direct peopel here. Because it's the most organized place for them to receive feedback.I'll be honest: Honey's right in this regard because they have said many times in the past to go to the Official Forums to tell them feedback. But them directing people here doesn't automatically mean all 'non here' places don't exist or don't matter. The developers would be REALLY stupid to say 'oh but the forums say this so that clearly is everyone even though we see all these other sources saying otherwise'. That'd just be idiotic... but ASKING people to try their best to keep it centralized is still a good idea, even if you use feedback from a lot of places. (And I 100% assure you they DO take feedback from a lot of places. They'd be stupid to turn down data they have easy access to. No game developer is going to be so idiotic as to turn down data.)
With all due respect, and I do mean this genuinely as you're one of the few people to actually keep civility in mind when engaging with me, I just don't think I'll be doing that. It's not lost on me how corrosive I'm being, but neither will I apologize, repent, or be sympathetic to those I fling said poison at. This has not been an occasional thing that hasn't gone my way in this game. This is an amazing piece of media I've invested a lot of time and money into. I was a healer main for years while having eyes only for AST.As much as I mind your reasoning, I would like to ask you refrain yourself from being overtly abusive with your language. Butchered.
I moved onto WHM. Certainly I'd find solace there.
Butchered.
Blue Mage is coming out? Along with Mimic, one of my favorite jobs. Mayhaps I'll find something there.
Butchered.
Okay, fine. I guess I get the hint that I should play a red icon. Samurai looks fun--
Neutered.
Tank... main?
Homogenized.
This is all while ignoring my repeated failures to secure a house for almost a decade and, again, me taking extreme umbrage with Yoshi's comment on both that and the state of healers. And in the midst of all it, I don't find camaraderie here. I don't find sympathy or understanding. I find people who side with the insults and suppression of complaints, no matter how civil or gently placed they may be. I find little else than flagrant disregard because "Hey, as long as I got mine." While I hardly use this as justification for my increasingly venomous demeanor, I hope it instead comes as an understanding as to why it's happening. I mean hell, just here someone implied that developers would be in the right to spite a userbase they've been on record for insulting, ignoring, and even expressing disinterest in fixing ("We can't find a way to make healers good" despite having, well, a professional dev team which I would hope is at least semi-highly paid). Pleasantries ended a while ago. If I'm to be disrespected regularly by the community, then I feel no need to be friendly or kind to those I couldn't care less if they vanished tomorrow. Case by case, like present company, will warrant a more coherent and less ill-tempered answer. Not everyone deserves both barrels. But I am done entertaining those who would insult and suppress while expecting nothing but a smile in return. This is not a great community and I'm tired of pretending it is.
