What the OP means to say is "credit to 5% of the player-base."
i know this is a troll post, but there are some casual players who truly believe this stuff… which is ironic because they always advocate about how anyone should be able to play the game, right? including those with disabilities that need third party tools. i have a friend who has severe vision problems - they use mods to change the UI color and make it bigger and clearer so they can see. this game’s default ui setting is absolutely garbage, and forces those with vision issues (color blind folk too) to resort to mods.
there are other disability programs out there too. how do the “anti- addon” brigade preach about how everyone should be able to do content, then immediately exclude the group of people who need it the most.
Most people who don't use addons just don't want them to become required. I personally wouldn't want this to be like WoW where in order to complete harder content I would have to look up guides, rotations, builds, which covenant to join, install dps meters, install weakauras, etc just to even try to prog the content. I just want it to stay like it is where most rotations can be figured out by someone sitting at a training dummy reading their skills and trying out a couple different rotations to see how they interact. The level of optimization people are talking about with all of these parsing addons and guides aren't needed to clear the content, even for savages. It's great and hopefully the game stays that way.i know this is a troll post, but there are some casual players who truly believe this stuff… which is ironic because they always advocate about how anyone should be able to play the game, right? including those with disabilities that need third party tools. i have a friend who has severe vision problems - they use mods to change the UI color and make it bigger and clearer so they can see. this game’s default ui setting is absolutely garbage, and forces those with vision issues (color blind folk too) to resort to mods.

Having to install x addons or you get kicked and whispered racial slurs is the worst part of WoW and their community around content and raiding, and something that would be awful if it made its way over here.
hi titanman
ignoring the fact that this doesn't really have anything to do with the UI mods for disabilities i was talking about in my original post... you obviously don't know much about ACT if you're saying "all these parsing addons". ACT is just something to calculate your numbers so that you can improve or see who is holding the group back. numbers matter in savages, as there are DPS checks. straight up cheating is one thing and should be banned, but most of the people being effected are getting hit due to innocent things like small UI changes so they can see better - or chat bubbles. ACT inherently isn't bad, it's only bad to those who do not want to improve. i have been playing for a /very/ long time, and ACT has pretty much been around all of ARR, and i can count on my fingers the total amount of times someone has been toxic due to numbers. Most people who don't use addons just don't want them to become required. and to go into wow, i can also count on my fingers the many times someone has been toxic about numbers, and i have played from BC up to MoP in the raiding scene - both pugs and statics. most of the time, people try to help when someone is holding back the group, and if you think that is toxic then I can't help you.
also, if someone calls you racial slurs just report and blacklist? i feel like people exaggerate the toxicity in WoW and pretend XIV is without it's own toxic players. (usually toxic casuals lol)
It's more that Blizzard designs fights with addons in mind while SE doesn't.
And people don't want SE to start doing that.

Damn, you really ignored everything I had to say just to repeat some lie about "toxic casuals".ignoring the fact that this doesn't really have anything to do with the UI mods for disabilities i was talking about in my original post... you obviously don't know much about ACT if you're saying "all these parsing addons".
