Maybe you should do the same. Pepe is just a meme made from 9gag that they portrayed as an alt-right thing just so people would be offended at low rez frog character. It is the same as when they baited the media into thinking that drinking milk was a racist act. They just bait people who get offended easily, they don't care about the politic behind it. It seems horrible to me that there are still countries in the world where being LGBTQ+ is not accepted at all, yet here you are complaining about a frog jpeg that could somehow hurt someone feeling. You just cause more harm than solution for the cause you pretend to defend.

No, I'm telling you that the vast majority of people don't have or don't want to search an entires backstory each time they post an image just to be sure it won't offend the 3 dudes in the back who get offended cause said images were used 3-year-old back by some hateful dude on a shady website.

I could just give you an example of why this whole situation is stupid in the first place. You can just apply it to everything. I could say we should remove Miquote from the game cause there is some animal-loving group like PETA and well you can physically hurt miquote in-game so it falls under animal abuse. Plus Miquotes are catboys/catgirls and some people probably make gore content about that so we should remove the whole race.

See the issue in both cases is that you aim at a very very small subgroup that can find it hateful. Take Pepe. Pepe is not viewed as a hateful symbol by the vast majority of people, it is just a frog meme. we shouldn't stop using it cause SOME members of the LGBTQ+ community find it hateful because there is A SMALL part of the population who used it long ago in a SPECIFIC context that even back then MOST people didn't care about.

I currently have GAD/PTSD brought on from past events that I won't get into. Naturally, I'm prone to reacting emotionally sometimes, but I'm getting better. Why am I saying all of this? It's because Under no circumstances is anyone obligated to embrace my sexuality, and under no circumstances is anyone obligated to walk on eggshells because of my feelings. "Your triggers are your own" my councelor says. And she's right. Why should the world change the way it speaks, the topics that are brought up, and the beliefs they have just to cater to my fragile nature? It's not fair to me because it makes me come off weak, and it's not fair to other people to have to alter everything because of my flaws. If people are bullies, if people are abusive, I leave and never go back. I do myself the favor of distancing myself from them.

Why are you branding getting upset about hateful things as bad and wrong? Also the world absolutely can and has changed in order to accomodate the feelings of groups of people. What exactly do you think the Women's Suffrage Movement or the Civil Right's Movement, or any number of other social movements in the world were about? Times change and societies and people are meant to change with them, not stay locked into rigid beliefs. Not everyone has the ability to distance themselves from abusive people either. The answer is not to just shrug and say "Welp, abuse exists nothing we can do about it though so just try not to get into those situations to begin with." The answer is to aat least try and change things so no one will have to endure it again.

I'm not saying that there aren't instances where people overreact to things and blow them out of proportion. Of course it happens. But people here tend to falsely assume that it's always an overreaction every time a subject they don't like comes up.

Back on topic. As people have said,usually the ones who do advertise as this are usually the opposite of what they claim, have drama, or have other issues.

Perhaps people advertising as this should think about why people avoid it then work on making it the safe space they claim it to be.
