thats exactly what happened to me , i got instantly labeled as """" homophobic""" cuz i didnt wanted to play "along" , no that's BS and totally disrespectful, that created in me a more defensive stance towards them :/ ..
oh no.. no.. bad straight person, you demon!
Lotta the replies in this thread demonstrate exactly why LGBTQ+ friendly groups and FCs are made, people are not interested in playing with the kinds of people who would come onto the forums and rant about how the gays are the real bigots.

It is something that the world need to go away from, but due to some people who need to decide and point fingers and interfere/Mock people for which gender they ID as or which way they bend to, then it is still needed, because humanity has still not gotten stuff, and refuse to see what life was about in the ancient days.

I personally think it is like the Gay Parade. Some gays feel the need for it some don't.
Or the "balck people month" or what is it called. Some black folks praise it some say they do not understand why you would limit your appreciation to 1 month.
Or like mother's day. I feel like its so fake. If I love someone I love them 365 a year and I dont need a specific day to make them remember that cause they feel it anyway...
But on the advertisment topic. I specifically dont think its bad, but when I see LGBTQ+ advertisments as a cis person, I will just think they want to be exclusively LGBTQ and I am not welcome.
This is my view on it.

If you don’t know anything about a subject or why it would be offensive then you should educate yourself on it. Google and other search engines exist for a reason so there’s no excuse to not do a search that would take less than a minute. Both MAGA and the Pepe frog are connected to the alt-right here in the US, which are a group of far right extremists who frequently hate on and sometimes cause harm to anyone in the LGBTQ community. So they have every reason to not like any mention of those things by others. As a fairly old japanese woman with a husband, joining Lgbt FCs has often been eye opening but also a bit annoying because there seems to be so many things today's generation take as offensive that I know nothing about. Someone once got offended and went off on someone else over a Pepe lizard guy thing apparently being offensive? Then also over someone feeling unsafe because another member liked MAGA and didn't use 'partner' instead of 'wife'. I mean, who can keep up with what's offensive to people, especially marginalized groups, these days? Better to just join a group where you don't have to walk on eggshells as long as you're a decent human being. Also keep in mind what's known or understood as offensive in one culture might not even be known of to another (like American culture vs. Japanese).

There is absolutely no need to be this rude man... the person gave a fairly kind reply to the topic. Besdies, I find it funny how you are trying to lecture someone on "educating themself" on being offensive when you do the exact same.If you don’t know anything about a subject or why it would be offensive then you should educate yourself on it. do as i say, not as i do![]()

It's clear you didn't read this post or my following post. I'm a minority myself who still gets called hard "Rs" so gtfo with that "dont want to come to terms with the fact that some minorities are still fighting to keep their own rights". Black people in America have been dealing with this garbage for centuries. If you see "LGBTQ+ friendly" as "no straights", then you have some serious self thinking to do. Do you see "handicap accessible" as "only disabled" people as well? If the answer is no, ask yourself why you see "LGBTQ+ friendly" as wanting no straights, ask yourself why you THINK it's that way. Do you think it's because you yourself would exclude those people and expect them to do the same to you? Are you uncomfortable because you're scared of finding out you yourself are in fact not straight? Are you terrified of having your own world views challenged? Or do you just not want to have to come to terms with the fact that some minorities are still fighting to keep their own rights and lives safe, and that the world is in fact a hell of a lot more intolerant than you thought?
I've LITERALLY said here I treat people as people and I don't care for labels but that to you means I'm excluding them? Isn't being treated like everyone else the goal here? Apparently not because when someone like myself operates that way its an issue. Not my fault people wear their sexualities like badges and use that as one of te main descriptors for themselves. If your name is Tim and you're a Viera ik you as Tim. Issue is some of you want to be known as Tim the Gay Viera like it matters when it doesn't. Leave your orientation in the bedroom and thats full sale.
Uncomfortable about finding out I'm not straight? Are you high? What relevance does that even have here? Also I already said who you prefer to sleep with shouldn't matter. What's important is the person themselves.
And again I said "lgbt+ friendly" COMES OFF that way to me. Never said that's definitively what it means. And ironically enough you are proving wat I'm saying in this very post of yours. (Also handicap accessible is a very crap comparison, try harder).
Also another point that let's me know you didn't read. You ask me why I feel think way...yet if you've read I already said why. Think before you speak

I wasn’t trying to be rude and didn’t call them names. I was simply saying that if they don’t know something they should look it up instead of assuming that people were getting upset over the terms used for no reason. I also never said the person I replied to was being offensive. They didn’t even use those terms themselves but were wondering why people got mad when others did so.There is absolutely no need to be this rude man... the person gave a fairly kind reply to the topic. I don’t know what their nationality has to do with using a search engine though. Do you think Japanese people aren’t capable of looking stuff up on the internet?
Maybe you should do the same. Pepe is just a meme made from 4chan that they portrayed as an alt-right thing just so people would be offended at low rez frog character. It is the same as when they baited the media into thinking that drinking milk was a racist act. They just bait people who get offended easily, they don't care about the politic behind it. It seems horrible to me that there are still countries in the world where being LGBTQ+ is not accepted at all, yet here you are complaining about a frog jpeg that could somehow hurt someone feeling. You just cause more harm than solution for the cause you pretend to defend. If you don’t know anything about a subject or why it would be offensive then you should educate yourself on it.
