Well, this isn't necessarily news, right? Just a perpetual cycle where any and all attempts to purge the game of hacks is met by those hacks just figuring out ways to get around the barbed wire? How do you defeat a serpent which when killed becomes two? I'll come back to this question as it is rhetorical.
MMOs, especially ones that gain in popularity as FFXIV has are figuratively children in their infant stages when they make their way into the market, and are completely innocent and free of corruption. A field of snow without a single print, so it is also the time they are the most susceptible to outside influence. Obviously, they can't remain that way, but maturation happens all the same. The difference being the environment it grows in. Hackers making their way into the game is an inevitability, and the more popular the game, the faster their infection spreads.
So how do you kill it? Well... you can't. I'm afraid anyone with the expectation of purging the game of all bots, hacking, cheating etc will never know peace. It is in the anatomy of an mmo. There is only way to kill it, and that is to kill the mmo. And that is what the hackers are basically doing. They are relentless in their efforts to essentially destroy the game, and the dev team are the immune system that are constantly battling it, and preventing them from doing just that. It's a bit cryptic to think about a game's inevitable doom, so I prefer not to.
As a subscriber, the best thing you can do is enjoy your time within the confines of the game's rules and regulations. The more influence you have in any given community within the game, the more power you have to lead by example. Don't try to battle the hackers yourself. This is like pitching yourself to the wolves. The way you defeat what can't be killed is to outlive it. FFXIV will simply have to persevere past the summit of its own popularity.

Sorry but no. This thread is basically the equivalent of saying water is wet. Idc how valid the point is, Skiros is here to start issues and many of us know this already. Ofc the community is getting worse, negativity runs places like this Forum now. Want a better experience go anywhere elseI think what makes it worse for me is that someone posts a thread about rampant cheating and half the community response is trolling, derailing or just acceptance and "it's fine". I personally don't care if it's a Skiros thread or it's been happening for years, it's a very legitimate issue that needs to be addressed.
A lot of threads seem to be like this lately, bickering, arguing with good points or against QoL just for the sake of arguing and derailing to make attacks at someone. The community was never amazing on the forums, but it seems to be getting worse lately.
Cheating is everywhere and I care and it affects my gaming experience but the players don't care and the devs don't care. I like this game, but things like this are demoralizing.

Cheating? No officer, these are UI Enhancements that YoshiP said he was going to implement in the future.

The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
Duh, look who is posting.I've long had a suspicion you just coyppaste threads off of reddit hence the odd variation of blatant shitposts and actual legitimate posts but now I know for certain:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Asmongold/c...ating_problem/
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...-using-add-ons.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxivdiscus...uspension_for/
...But that aside. Squeenix will continue to do nothing because bots pay a sub. Sad but it's really the truth. Unless unless players quit over this they'll just keep ignoring and making money off the bot's subs.

I think this is an extension of what I posted before. SE treats them all the same. And some people do think people using QoL stuff are "cheaters SE plz ban."I think what makes it worse for me is that someone posts a thread about rampant cheating and half the community response is trolling, derailing or just acceptance and "it's fine". I personally don't care if it's a Skiros thread or it's been happening for years, it's a very legitimate issue that needs to be addressed.

Lump everyone together and this is the result. If SE, and the community who is not blameless, only labeled this sort of "hard core" hacks or whatever you want to call them as cheats, I think there'd be a ton more unity. Being as vastly sweeping as SE, well... I don't think it's very surprising we end up so divided.
Who knows, maybe it's because they're cheaters themselves.I think what makes it worse for me is that someone posts a thread about rampant cheating and half the community response is trolling, derailing or just acceptance and "it's fine". I personally don't care if it's a Skiros thread or it's been happening for years, it's a very legitimate issue that needs to be addressed.

Don't think that is true in FF14, at least not universally. I had a friend get insta banned on day 1 because of a dirty name (was Thundercock or something like that). You also have to remember some countries, in order to sell their game in it, Argentina for example they are not allowed to perma ban them or suspend them over x amount of days.
Thats why blizzard had to after decades do something about it with the billing. No longer use game cards ect to pay for the said accounts in that region. There are many more countries like this with similiar rules that get abused.
Im not saying the country residents themselves are doint it. The account itself is registered there. removing gamecards from that country forces another method of payment that they cannot produce, you cant just go there and ask for a bank account =p and paying from home country would reveal all other accounts linked.

There's negativity because people are getting sick of the same problems either recurring or being left unaddressed entirely for years.Sorry but no. The forums are also supposed to be a channel for giving feedback to the devs, so there's more of a tendency for people to shout into the wind here then in other places.
