I think some people are confusing being in love with a character and being in love with the idea of a character.

Take Tali from Mass Effect. She is like my ideal woman. I love that woman and even replayed the first one so I could romance no one. I however do not LOVE Tali. Tali isn't real. I just love the idea of her.

I'm sure most fit that exact category but don't label it as such when they say things...

then you get people like the OP...and they are actually in love with a fictional character. It's almost like the one woman who is so in love with an inanimate object that she married it. The Eiffel Tower. Wooboy that's a documentary to watch.
