I just assume what they'll do like they've done for a lot of mounts is to make it scale as is. Remember when the Regalia was brought here from the XV event? Many wondered how a Lalafell was going to drive one of those things.

    Answer: Petal shifters.

For the flight unit, they can be Just strapped in from the belly. You couldn't even see legs anyways - just a torso and head. Viera and Hrothgar shouldn't have too many difficulties either though I imagine it's just the dev team working out things on their end. Tails can be hidden or tucked away. Kinda like the cape thing that they're doing now. If it takes awhile for us to get them I'm all for the wait. Do it right and fair for anyone interested.
The Regalia isn't really comparable, though, since its top is open. Our characters just sit in a chair. (Or stand on it, for Lalas.) The flight units completely enclose the pilot.

I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it'll require some tweaking for odder-sized character models. The existing model doesn't work for everyone.

    Oh boy.

More of the exact same 2B and 9S clothing with the occasional outfit from somebody else. Exciting!

Where do you see anything that resembles 2B or 9S in any of the concept art I've posted?

But much like every other Alliance raid before and after, the bottom line is "they happened" and unless you're a super angry forum user that won't touch the NieR raid out of a weird-ass self implied principle, you can choose to ignore them at your leisure by that standard.

Much like the people who announce their departures from social media, I don't exactly understand the need to announce vitriol towards a collaboration a majority found fun to do with a ton of rewards and fan service. Like... let them have fun with it.
As I said, I wanted to make it short. But I'll elaborate a little in this case.

Myths of the Realm explores the story behind the Twelves, Twelves that are part of the FF14 game since the beginning. This is not something out of the blue.
    Now for the other alliances
Crystal Tower Series is FF (FF3)
Void Ark is FF (Diabolo anchored story and War of the Magi)
Ivalice is FF (Tactics, FF12 - side note : Vagrant Story too, but VS released after Tactics)
    Nier is not FF.

I ignored this raid, at the cost of losing a chunk of the ShB expansion.
You may find my reasons dumb, but again, I don't find it fun to slab a collab this way.

I have no problem against people enjoying it, in fact I'm happy for them.
I'm just one of those who didn't like this kind of implementation. Is all.

And while I understand some want "more NieR", I voice my opinion against on that matter unless it sticks to Mogstation/GS.

    Is all.

As someone who absolutely loved Nier Automata, please. No more Nier x XIV. It's getting... pretty tired.

With one sentence, you've basically summarized NieR: Automata—namely, Project YoRHa. Just add a touch of emphasis with a lingering sense of uncertainty to "for the greater good".

    Asspull complete.
I'm all for seeing something like this interspersed with XIV's world and lore.

This reminded me of a conversation I had with my significant other about this. It was comparing Cloud's SDS Fenrir bike and how we compared it to a Fisher-Price toy.

Could you imagine a Power Wheels version of a Flight Unit for a Lalafell? I'm convinced they SHOULD just scale the mount based on size. I would love to see pint-sized Lala flight units.

Well, even though YoRHa definitely exists in the world of Final Fantasy XIV, some few naysayers would say "NieR lore has no place in XIV" to which I would remind them that even so, the raid exists, the event happened and weather you like it or not, we met a version of 2B and 9S we didn't see in Automata.

But I do believe that there's some lore that deserves to be added in the next Encyclopedia Eorzea (whenever it gets released)

I felt this deserved a reply of its own.

First, nah I don't find your reasons dumb. If anything from the perspective of a fan I kind of wanted to explain my reasons why I don't think it's dumb and why it goes beyond the pale of just NieR alone.

Regarding the series that are FF related, I don't disagree with you. In fact, I'm with all of that and agree 100%. Especially with MOTR for Endwalker. There's relevancy to basically all of the Alliances - even if Yoshi P himself says that MOTR isn't relevant to the main story and optional.

The relevancy of NieR's alliance? There's life and activity beyond the stars. It was apparent with the Omega storyline and even more so since we found Omega's civilization in Ultima Thule. An entire race of machine lifeforms crash landing god knows how many years ago on one of the shards.

I suppose the main relevancies here are 1) there's creation outside of the shards and 2) there's an existential threat that merits our attention and Norvrandt was in apparent danger post the Light Wardens. The former we established a long while ago of course with other series crossovers.
If there's any takeaway to doing the NieR raids aside from the fanservice... it's gonna be those two for sure.

Do I believe it has relevancy to the Final Fantasy line? Nah. I don't. But it did open up a whole series of questions as a NieR fan who has been in XIV since 1.0. Beating Automata and going thru all of the endings and the endless expanse of possibilities that makes it fun for fans of other games to enjoy.

We also encountered some other non related otherworldly series such as Monster Hunter World - which is also a permanent staple in XIV. We get to own a Rathalos for ourselves AND have a Palico and Poogie.

And in an earlier time we had Dragon Quest monsters to a lesser extent come in thru a portal somewhere and we sent them packing. Even dealt with a merchant with the traditional DQ "Ye olde english!" dialogue that DQ fans have come to know and love.

If anything this has set a standard of fun and exploration beyond the scope. Sure... we have purists that rabblerouse about such crossovers. To that degree that's on them to do it or not - I just take offense when they are being absolute buzzkills about it. What I'm against is people saying "It's not fun! It's awful! It has no place! We're absolute FF purists!" and just ruining the moods and 'tudes of those like myself who have fun with things like this. Like... they try so hard to convince us that we're wrong and they're right - and that pisses me off because I'm sitting in my corner here enjoying my experience. I don't need some asshole telling me I'm wrong for loving it.

And to be clear! You're not who I refer to. You're good! You've got legit reasons and haven't attacked anyone for it. So thank you for that!

I understand where you're coming from. And hopefully my explanation clears up where I stand and come from too. =)
