FFXIV x NieR Reincarnation Crossover

The entire Nier series is, at this point just Squeenix "Get out of jail" card which they use to either attempt saving games (like Babylons Fall) or to stall for original Content. It wouldnt suprise me at all if FFXIV would get ANOTHER Nier collab at some point, just to even some mistake on their part out.

Hearing that there were going to be Nier alliance raids are the only reason I picked ffxiv back up after quitting within my first 5 mins on my first go round. Hearing about the Nier raids from a friend is what sparked my interest in the game initially. Came for the Nier raids, stayed for the whole game.

I'm not a fan of Nier because I haven't played it yet. The music is wonderful and I don't mind crossovers as long as the crossover stays in the game and isn't a random event that only occurs once or twice like the FFXV event.

I would like to see a Chrono Cross event even though the launch of the Chrono Cross DeMaster was a horrible launch and on Steam its getting hated on due to being poorly ported over.

Seeing as NieR Reincarnation is getting an FFXIV crossover event I think it's appropriate that we also got some more NieR goodies (namely glam). Be it as a crossover event with Reincarnation or simply MogStation items. A lot of FFXIV players are either NieR fans (such as myself) or at the very least they like the glam we got with the NieR raids in Shadowbringers. Reincarnation has some amazing costume and weapon designs which would actually fit extremely well with FFXIV's jobs.

I'm thinking maybe something similar to the Garo collab event which adds an outfit and weapon for every job or, again, simply added to the MogStation as separate packs for each job. Exactly how it would be implemented is up to the devs of course and I personally don't mind either way. I just know that I and many others would pay quite a lot to have some of these in the game one way or another.

I'd say that both games will gain a lot from having crossovers with each other and I am certain that if some of these made it to the MogStation they would sell like hot cakes.

Regarding weapons there is also this older concept art which I believe is fan-made, however I think it could still be referenced for some exceptionally good weapon designs. These are based on NieR: Automata but its all in a similar vein.

As a GNB main I would kill to have that PLD sword as a Gunblade in FFXIV, for example.

Re[in]carnation sets would be wonderful. I'd like to see them double back and address all that was left out of YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse as well. Weapons, a 9S set (being just as much of a main character as 2B), a Heavy Armor set, a proper 2P hairstyle since you can't adjust the color of hairstyle-bound accessories ("Cut 2Perfection), an Emil head, flight unit mounts, an additional Pod mount to accommodate both minions, the list goes on. Most of this exists in-game and wouldn't require vast resources to bring to fruition.

As long as it's something like the Garo crossover. The Nier raids are fun and all, but we kind of missed out on some lore of the First because of the crossover taking up ShB's alliance raid questline.

I believe it's more a matter of how:

An opportunity was missed with YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse.

They could've revealed that the Automata crew was returning to one of the remaining shards, that shard being a vague reference to the future of our world. This would've added a profound implication to the potential fate of the reflections in EW, enhancing XIV's lore meaningfully instead of them just being "here and gone in a haze of obscurity".

Wanting to play alongside my partner and experience YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse together is why I joined FFXIV in the first place. In our case, it enhanced the experience. But whether it's lore of the First, the Source, or other shards, I definitely agree that all of it should've been tied together better.

Lots of people in this thread make no difference between Nier Automata and Nier Reincarnation. Their aesthetics are in fact, quite different. Not only that, but nobody said it has to be an alliance raid - it would work perfectly as a Garo styled collab.

Exactly. Those assuming it'd just be "more Automata gear" might've rushed to disagree before actually taking a look. I especially like the potential for more mecha x streetwear looks (Noelle's especially), but I see plenty of looks that would compliment XIV jobs.

As for where they're released, I'd prefer obtaining them through PvP.

A side story inside pandemonium could make sense I guess ; I don't think they'd make a whole fight as a crossover but it's possible.

As for items ; maybe a mama minion ?
I'd be ok with some glam too.
