I guess anyone who supports gridania them supports racists, anyone who supports limsa supports piracy and murder, anyone who supports uldah promotes slavery and racism etc etc. Everyone in 14 sucks. We know this. But, by definition, supporting the Garleans is literally supporting bigotry and genocide (fascism has a lot of different definitions, so it's somewhat debatable), at least within the fictional setting of The Source. Most Garleans were bigoted and genocidal, whether or not they had "sympathetic reasons" for doing it. Most Garleans looked down on every other race (the tolerant ones, like Gabranth and Garus are considered rare exceptions) and they definitely wanted to commit at least cultural genocide (they wanted to impose Garlean rule, atheism, and military doctrine on every single race) and Varis outright states he wants to cause a Rejoining to eliminate the diverse races into one superior race.
Supporting the Garleans doesn't necessarily make you a fascist-supporter IRL, but that is definitely what your character would be in-game.
Wait, who is racist in Gridania? Legit asking; I thought they were the least bad of the big 3.
I'll have to NewGame+ it. Could you point me to some quests?
Dunno about the latter... Said Duskwight did break the rules of the guild, the issue being he wasn't the only one and his friends used his as a scapegoat. With Moon Keepers the deal is much more complicated since most Moon Cats are in fact Poachers which is a big taboo in Gridania. In fact if not for Calamity that somewhat weakened the Elementals of the Shroud the city would likely be leveled by now by it's angry rulers due to said poaching.
I know poaching angers the Elementals but there are characters that dislike not just poaching but Moon Keepers in general. The gal in the Archer's guild wasn't a poacher, she was doing her best, but was still treated badly. Foulques broke the rules, but so did others and they used him as a scapegoat BECAUSE he was a Duskwight which is pretty blatantly racist.Dunno about the latter... In the first case you mistake two things. First the Moon Keeper Archer Gal isn't treated badly by entire guild but by a single person. In contrast the Guildmaster showed nothing but support to her. It was also less of racism and more of harmful stereotype that sadly had solid grounding in reality. And yes there's a difference. People from my country used to or naybe even still have a terrible opinion as tourists. Sadly it's well deserved one. Long story short she's a victim of bad reputation her race sadly worked hard to deserveI know poaching angers the Elementals but there are characters that dislike not just poaching but Moon Keepers in general. Foulques case though... I didn't feel it had strong racial subtext. As far as I remember his retelling of the story he and his friends broke the rules. When everyone in the guild got questioned he, taking the teachings of Lancer's courage to heart, stepped forward admitting to his guilt expecting that hus friends would do the same. Ultimately that felt less as a racism (although stereotypes about Duskwight were present) and more about hypocrisy of his friends and colleagues that when presented with choice would chose "cowardice" to save their own hides.
