I made another mistake, with the LVL boost... when i finished the book on my character i realized, that i still have to go through the complete MSQ and that THIS is another book, the one you bought....

Now do i have a whitemage lvl82 stuck in the MSQ lvl35.... And when this one strikes 90, i will not get the XP from the MSQ as gil, or somethign else. so billions of XP lost in that...


WHat you can do is, doing the roulette all the time now, gather the stuff from there to level up... i dont see another effectiv way than that.

With road to 80 you will get there just dungeon spamming in a couple evenings? I don't see what the big deal is? Time/XP ratio on MSQ isn't great.

It really makes no sense to let someone do that.

It's there for players who don't want to do MSQ. The boost did exactly what it was meant to do. However, you bought it and used it even though it appears as though you do want to do the MSQ.

Chances of that happening are pretty low.

If you were on Aether I would pocket heal you through those dungeons until level 80.

Yeah, it was my error. I should have used it later when I was done with leveling alt jobs with the MSQ.

All on me, but still really bummed they won't help.

I wanted to use the MSQ to level ALL jobs to 80. So much xp in there, especially when it's doubled with The Road to 80.

When I was done using that resource, I could have used the skip, but I was dumb and used it too early.

Hence me not wanting a refund, just a reversion back to before I used it (rollback?), and putting the mailed item back in my inventory.

That resource is now gone. I realize I did it to myself, but still hurts.

Level another job. Don't persevere with a level 82 character in level 35 content, take up a second job – either start something from level 1 or instant unlock level 50 red mage/samurai.

i have 1 character (Sirineh) through the old Endwalker, started witht the new patchstuff, i have Jalinah there on the left side doing the MSQ LVL70 stuff.
If i play this one Whitemage i seriously consider to buy the book to start with Endwalker... Yeah its money, but i am very honest now, playing 3 chars through the MSQ is... you have to be a masochist, i am already that far to kill some of the NPC from MSQ because they are just pain in da ass. And the twins are the first ones, starting with Alphinaud...

And if someone ask: Why are you playing 3 chars (or more) you can ply all jobs in 1 char. Yes you guys are right and i am happy that you can do that. But i am more of a roleplayer and so not every job fits every character or i just want have different chars i can switch from time to time. Doesnt mean i play them all up to 90...


However, just saying the threadstarter is not the only one who made a "mistake" by buying such stuff....

These books are for people like me who got tired of the MSQ or are not interested and just want reach maxlevel as fast as possible... Like i said: to do the MSQ one time to get known to the story is 1 thing, doing it over and over again because i like to have alternates.... the time i use to go through the MSQ, insted i can take some overtime at work and get out much more money than just these 23 Euros... so in this case the money is well invested in that book

At least this wasn't what happened to a friend. They decided to join with their partner just before asmongold. They made a character set up their UI and waited for their partner to join, they also made their character set up their UI and both logged out at a table in Uldah so they could play through the story when they both had off from work. Two days later they log in they no longer had the road to 70 buff because the servers were now all full and locked. Their partner still had the buff until the next day but they didn't want to play together with one over leveling the other so she contacted support to ask how long the buff is suppose to go on for. They said it was only for when the server was preferred, 90 days, or something else I can't recall at this time.

The real kicker is another friend around the same exact time had their buff for longer than 90 days even after the same exact date she joined. What I learned from the entire thing, is road to 70 or now road to 80 is similar to Time, a fickle mistress that you later find out is a mister and no number of salt baths could rid you of the shame.

Silly old film cow reference aside the buff is literally a quantum entity, so though you did buy a skip and wasted xp, you could have always lost it for other reasons or had it for way less time than you would have just because you were not the chosen one. Or you could be two other friends who even after losing the buff have been leveling similarly fast to when they had the buff to begin with. Their characters may be bugged, but this is a bug I hope they have not reported.
