oh, i see. i thought the controversial tag was about the story but it didnt occur to me that the lack of or terrible gameplay adjustments should be included. WHich is funny since I live in breath samurai and are currently really sad about the changes.Venat and her actions, and how we're forced to react positively to such in-game (go look at the lore subforum if you don't believe me on that one being badly recieved). The Summoner changes, the lack of healer improvements and general outright ignoring of the role, the Samurai changes, Ninja changes, several other job changes, LACK of changes/improvements for some classes like Machinist, poor handling of server stuff on expac launch despite being aware of it for ages, and lastly the attitude the director has had in the past several live-letters, especially regarding healers and veteran players ("We're never going back to the heavensward days so you can stop asking for it" (mostly directed at DRK players IIRC as they were the ones mainly asking for a return of their HW class version), "if you don't like current healer gameplay just go play ultimate", etc etc).
Outside of that its just the usual stuff of "x instance is too hard please nerf it" and other related complaints that always show up.
The "controversy" of the story only really exists within a small subsect of the community. When Endwalker first released, the plot received almost universal praise and people who didn't like it were a massively-downvoted minority. But as more people start reaching the end of 6.0, or have more time to think on it after the spectacle and rush of first-time-play has died down, we've started to see more criticism. Despite that, the VAST majority still love the story, whether or not they acknowledge flaws.
But as I've said before, you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise, because the plot-critical threads on this forum have been teetering on becoming an echo chamber.
