Why Alphinaud and Alisaie are so well treated despite being just kids

They are scions of the famous Leveilleur family and are prodigies of the Sharlyan Academy (More so in Alphinaud's case).

Given what Lousoix did at Cartenau their name carries a lot of weight too even in Eorzea. Despite coming from such a background they have shown they are capable of handling themselves and are not just being their parent's puppets, granted Alphie needed to grow up a bit after his naivety cost him with the Crystal Braves, but he's come a long way.

There have been plenty of teenaged rulers and military leaders (though not necessarily "supreme commanders") in real life history.

It's not always about age. It frequently is about ability, status and the opportunity of the moment. When others are uncertain what to do or panicking, it's those able to keep a calm head that get pushed to the front to lead. Sometimes that ends up a younger person.

Alphinaud and Alisaie are considered prodigies, extremely intelligent despite their relatively young age. Have they made mistakes? Yes, but then so do many adults.

Thinking back, isnt it most of alphinaud's job in ARR mostly because he has the connection, most scion back in ARR didnt have that connection while Alphi and Alisaie know a lot of people and have the connection simply because of their family prestige and their prodigy status as bonus, i mean most people or like 80% of people didnt even have proper basic education, while alphi and alisaie are both college graduates..... at the very least they have more knowledge than 80% of the world's population, that alone is important for problem solving

If we're talking real life military history, a military commander that's so careless that they almost get the leader of a nation assassinated would be jailed or even executed. Actual IRL history is not a good comparison for something like this. Military leaders in history have been executed for incompetence alone.

Even if you are rich and powerful you must know that you have to be of a certain age to join organizations or military service. They are simply too young in my book.

@OP: they may be "just kids", but are basically geniuses in their preferred fields and have the equivalent of an ivy league phd at the ages of 16-17 (their physical and mental ages are also weird due to nebulous time passing and the extra year they spent in the first, but that's pretty secondary here), and have ludicrous amounts of wealth.

their competence was a bit iffy at the start (alphinaud's idealism and alisaie's bullheadedness), but we've seen them temper those aspects in real-time and they've proven themselves capable and deserving of respect.

- Born & raised privilege from wealthy lineage & connections

- Received most top academics only given to few selective (Sharlayans are quite the extremes of Erudites ego/centrics in keeping knowledge to themselves & delight in shaming ignorance onto others from Eorzea & afar

- Didn’t had to worry much about their upbringing childhood except excessive studies (Tiger mom/dad attitude where a B minus is blasphemous)

- They’ve learnt through experience past their biases & at least were the initiators for change unlike the rest of the Sharlayans

- I don’t man…Japan tends to have repetitive narrative & elements (all Scions white hair, purity, overly academical smart talks shakespeare & it irritates just get to the damb point & speak clearly!)

The other one was "My plate shouldn't be banned because I don't think it's lewd enough to warrant a ban."
And saw a 3rd one of "I got banned for trying to help SE by sending /tell, invite, TT request, party request to someone I think is a bot."
In hindsight, this thread is the least disturbing one.

Nah, I disagree. Saying his opinion is dumb is still an opinion in itself. Also it doesn't violate TOS.
