I'm perfectly fine with my room at the inn so this isn't coming from entitlement, but I hope everyone can get a house.
Except the OP. The tears are too delicious.

"cant wait for all the comments from entitled people already have a plot to bash on this post with responses featuring "oh i already have a plot so you shouldnt complain and pretend housing problem isnt a real problem "

yup i already own one. Difference is i will still admit the problem exists and not pretend "its not my problem i got mine already" with that attitude. Its a real issue and it has not been resolved.

All I can add is that giving single owners only 6 wards is one of the stupidest decisions in recent MMO history. Do they plan to add more?
Now seeeeeee, I actually really like AA's housing! It is finite (boo hissss), and the plot snagging/placement could be infuriating at times to say the least, but they have SO much variety as far as the style of property you can build, the design, the size, the usage, the decorations, being able to share it with friends, etc. This is probably a me thing as I love the RPG element of having to build things from scratch in games, but I appreciate that you also have to collect the materials, carry/move them to your plot, and then slowly build the property as well.
This is going to be a real hot take, but I actually prefer AA's housing to XIV, flaws and all. :X
I think the biggest problem is housing wasn't originally designed for players. It was designed for FC's and then allowed players to buy houses. Honestly they should have just never done this. If they wanted player housing it should have been something separate all together.
It's one of the greatest reason why this game has so many issues. They tend to try and reuse old systems to add to something new instead of just making a new system. I mean this entire game runs off the skeleton of 1.0 which is where is runs into a bulk of its limitations. Ultimately I blame lazy development over all.

They never disclosed or confirmed if it is indeed a hardware issue or they just dont care.Part 2. Ran out of space (3000 character limit lol)
What's a real worry is a lot of people are banking on these island sanctuaries supposedly coming in 6.2 to scratch the itch of player housing. "Just wait and see" they say. Even YoshiP has stated not to get your hopes up about them in this regard. Now maybe when 6.2 drops, especially after seeing all the blowback from this housing fiasco, maybe YoshiP and co WILL make island sanctuaries player housing. Or they'll just make them a small garden plot ala the farm in Four Winds from WoW ("There's your gardening scrubs. Now quit complaining about player housing, I have Hrothgar ears to chop!"-YoshiP). As a newer player, Empyrium offered the hope of finally getting to partake in the housing of FF14, something I really wanted to indulge in, only to be left in disappointment realizing not only how bad the lotto system is, but the overall state of player housing as a whole. And the sad fact is, this has been going on for years unaddressed. It's actually quite shocking how a game as big as FF14 is could actually have content that is locked behind being lucky of all things. Not lucky, then this content you can't partake in, even though our in game events give you rewards for said content! Now even WoW has a such badly designed system, and they're pretty low on some of the garbage they put out these days. And when WoW can claim that kind of victory over FF14, that they aren't "that" bad in comparison, then the devs who work on FF14 should feel real shame. Not just because a potentially inferior game can claim this victory, but also because hundreds of thousands of players want to engage with this system and call a small part of Eorzea home and can't and the disappointment that causes.
