- There are tools, already, that can allow you to guide a team fairly effectively already. If your team ignores them, text isn't really going to change anything.
- XIV PvP is probably one of the more casual, easy to progress in ranked systems where even when you run into teams that are a lost cause, it's just fine going next with minimal punishment. Time investment is incredibly low, and you can't full de-rank regardless of what happens in your games.
- In the vast majority of PvP games I've played, chat is rarely used to be helpful and tends to end up being someone's rage-diary when they're getting trashed. I can count on one hand how many useful comments have been put into a PvP chatbox. Most things people say to try and get people to do something involves a ping of some kind, and that's generally effective enough if your team wants to work together. A team that doesn't want to work together, won't: Go next.
Want to send your team after a priority target? Literally... put a marker on them. If it's ignored, they'd have ignored whatever you typed anyway. If they put it on the tank? You can either help burn the tank as, in most cases, the tanks aren't actually that tanky to where you're wasting resources, or you can play a class that has a better burst rotation and kill the target you see as the actual priority in that moment while your team kills the other player. If that doesn't work? Just go next, it is what it is in any game where people either don't want to cooperate or don't know what to actually prioritize. That's all team games in a nutshell, really.
I've been in games where 4 players on my team were killed by 1 player, that's just a lost cause scenario and it is what it is. I've also been in games where internally I disagreed with a priority, but by burning it down anyway it let the team transfer to more important targets more quickly (or, instead, I'd zone multiple players out of the fight and stall for my team and, more often than not, kill one of them myself). You can't hypercarry in CC, no, but there's enough you can do to genuinely sway the pull of fights into your favor by making better micro-decisions.
But, I just think having the standard, regular chat in CC wouldn't be worth the value added vs. how people would actually use it the majority of the time. It won't be used as the strategy tool you claim it would be, as it almost never is in any PvP solo queue team game.
