    The game needs an engine revamp, badly. If they are going to increase the graphical fidelity come next expansion, I see no better time to do such thing.

    While this would be ideal, and probably allow them to do a lot more... do you think it would be properly applied? xD They had artifact bugs and spaghetti code from 1.0 in their stuff way into Stormblood, and even then they tiptoe some stuff. If they were to port all their code into another engine, the code would likely need a lot of extensive reviewing, wouldn't it? Some bugs would still be there popping up at random places, and the spaghettification would get weirder and weirder.

    To be honest, when they showed the newly revamped models of the races, I would have appreciated it more if they showed Viera and Hrothgar instead of Miquo'te and Lalafel, on those we already know they will look good, I have more concerned of the other races, but hey there is always 7.9, right?

What exactly are these specifications that are holding you back minus the engine this game is built upon (I cant blame them for the engine. They had to get ARR out ASAP and trying to build a new in-house engine would have taken up at least half of that time). Im sure if he had a 3D artist actually come on stream and give the run down of whats happening rather than being like "Unique heads. Very hard", then the uproar wouldn't have been as severe. His "explanation" not only leaves room for *MORE* questions, but it also leaves a lot of questions unanswered :/

    That‘s what I‘ve been asking myself since ever! I‘m not from the field myself but is there a difference to modding? How do people manage to fit all the hairstyles plus hats and often times it‘s one person working on it? Am I missing something, or why is it so difficult for the devs when the modding community already seem to do it easily?

    Simple, because the devs are all under a schedule, unlike modders who dont have higher-ups they have to listen to and work on their own free time. Hardly fair to compare the two. Basically they've been lax with the hairstyles because no matter the outcry for it, its still a low priority for them. Im not advocating for what they released but at least wanted to share a possible perspective why they cant cater to every single need people throw at them at once.

    It also has something to do with the famous spaghetti coding. Mods are client sided, so modders don't actually have to deal with the coding of the actual server. Still doesn't make it right when they make new hairstyles and instead of making a version for Viera and hrothgar with everyone else's, they'd rather wait a while and then use the "it's hard as an excuse" making hair is annoying, but when you're actively making variations for hats and Miqo'te ears, but ignoring Viera and hrothgar, please forgive me for being a bit irate.

    Going back to zhexos's post, I really hate how the term "discussion" is thrown around so haphazardly. When one has a discussion, they are expected to go into detail about their topic. Ending it at "its very hard. Trust me" is not a discussion. It's a statement that is meant to end a "discussion"....
