The airship idea that had crossed my mind came about after seeing the theatre ship during Stormblood for the 24 player raid. That was basically seeing it as a possible way to introduce instanced housing to the game and also create a potential massive gil sink to the game to take a bite out of the constant inflation. The reason for it as it demonstrated the possibility of having much larger airships that were not military vessels.

Being mobile accessing it on foot would be done from any airship dock or from new docking points added in select populated areas. Players would spend gil through Galrond Ironworks to have the original tiny ship built which would probably have an interior space of a small house then afterwards if the player chooses spend more adding more space/features to the ship. Increased interior space until equivalent to a mansion. Deck space enhancements to place exterior furnishings. Possibly some new airship specific features or enhancements that wouldn't be possible on a normal house like modifying the non home areas of the ship as that would be about the same as letting a player modify the overall housing area ward. Installation of a small docking bay for tiny personal craft and an NPC crewman that essentially functions as the marketboard would be 1 thought.

    Exactly!

This exactly how i was thinking and it would be nice to see the docking bay get a new update for options to switch between npc vessels and player crafted or bought vessels
