Instanced housing can allow for visitors though. Entrances can also be built right into a busy section of town making them highly accessible if they so choose.Allow me to point out what instanced housing will never bring a player...
This screenshot I took of my message book it not to boast or brag. I don't even have any idea what would constitute a high number of likes and messages. I am posting it for a couple of other reasons:
The first is I don't know 597 players. Not even close, let alone talk to that many players. I think you can like a plot more than once, but I digress.
The second are the comments. I can only show one tab, but I have 3-4 tabs with comments about my home. I put an astonishing amount of time into my place, and it was finished long before message books were even available. Each and every single one of those comments made it all worth it. It also makes me wonder how many players have actually stopped by that I don't know about.
To know people have came and visited my plot, loaded into the house, looked around, loved it, and left me a comment, and did so completely unsolicited means so much. I can't even describe the elation that is felt. If housing was instanced, like so many players feel they want and would make things better; this would not exist. I would have this home I've spent hours on, and nobody can see it. It just exists in this little tiny corner in cyberspace. All by itself.
Might as well put instanced housing in Ultima Thule. That would be a very fitting zone to have them.
I don't get why people think Instanced housing can only be isolated and lonely.

It is a 'crazy' idea because you're the thousandth person to request this despite the team stating for years its not possible given the servers as they are.
Ive never heard them say they cant replace with instance housing. Only thing ive ever heard them say is they cant keep producing wards as it's pushing the limits.

but what about my neighborhood? And that bunch of houses where I never saw anyone walking around? I'll have to stay away from that ghost ward where my house is! I don't even know who bought the houses next to me, but I will miss them so much! What if. WHAT IF: We had instanced house plots, single houses existing in their own seperate instances, with a set price for different house sizes, that everyone could save up gil for and buy and customize to their heart's content and you could still invite other players into your instanced house?
Think about it.

I would think that instanced houses would actually be less resource intensive than wards, because with wards they have to all be loaded 24/7, taking up RAM and processing power, which is expensive. With instanced houses, each one would only have to be loaded when a player is present, otherwise the data is simply stored in a database on a hard drive, which is cheap.
Does anyone actually believe the server line? It has always been a complete load of BS. The stupid ward system uses several orders of magnitude more resources overall than instanced housing. It has nothing to do with the servers and everything to do with Yoshi's obsession with neighborhoods(which are mostly empty anyway).

In terms of potential usage a limited amount of plots and wards is a known quantity. The housing is made to handle all the outsides being used at the same time (though not the insides which are instanced housing technically which have been shown to have a hard limit set). Potentially with completely instanced housing there would be a limit to how many people could use houses at the same time but not to the amount of potential houses being logged. That database could just grow forever and POTENTIALLY could be a disaster should everyone on the server decide they want to use their houses at the same time. This is highly unlikely, but a possible consideration.Does anyone actually believe the server line? It has always been a complete load of BS. I'm again not saying neighborhoods are great (I have never seen anyone other than me in my neighborhood when I play even though their yards seem to change), nor am I saying instanced housing will solve everyones problems.
I'd just like to say that server potential load and capacity is probably a consideration.. but YET AGAIN.. would like a comprehensive reason from the devs about why they're tripling down on the neighborhood things when they're not a huge part of why everyone wants housing.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

Remove all other wards while we are at it. With players scattered across 24 wards, the neighborhood will never be lively. If we get instanced house plots, then we only need 1 ward. Randomize appearances of neighboring houses after a set peroid of time everyday (If feasible). This way, there still chances your house will show up, and others will see your design when they pass by.
