but I want neighbors! I like being able to look at other people's houses and sometimes seeing the fc that lives next to mine. They really should just make it so the game adds wards automatically

But you never talk to your neighbors. Literally nobody does. You just sit in your own house and interact with your friends. Wards are completely antisocial already because everyone just sticks to interacting with their own cliques and nobody actually socializes as a community. There's no reason we can't have wards and solo instanced housing at the same time.
Did you just assume that there is no one socializing in a ward among all data centers, and all servers, therefore it's fine to delete it, and turn housing to solo private instance? But you never talk to your neighbors. Why are you so eager in dismissing the current system that we have, and switching to other completely new untested system that might upset more people? Just because it's working in Elder Scrolls Online doesnt mean it would work in FFXIV.
Instead of completely destroying it and built something new. Why not just improve what we already have. make the wards grows as the server population needs. It's 2022, there is no way their servers unable to handle more than 24. It's a permanent solutions and everyone can get houses if the wards can grow as needed once the existing wards got filled up. This has been done before on other MMO, I don't understand why people think it's a rocket science when scalable, on-demand, cloud computing exists.
What are you even talking about? Nobody said remove wards just add instanced solo housing plots as an option for people who either can't get a ward house because they got lucked out or because they just want a lone house all to themselves away from other players.Did you just assume that there is no one socializing in a ward among all data centers, and all servers, therefore it's fine to delete it, and turn housing to solo private instance?

I love wards I'm in them all the time. I live in housing districts. That's not to say that instanced housing can't be built alongside the current system. Why they've never done more with apartments is beyond me.But you never talk to your neighbors. Literally nobody does. You just sit in your own house and interact with your friends. I talk to my neighbors. We actually formed a cross linkshell and are networking together to make our ward a thriving community. Just because not everyone has put the effort to, doesn't mean it can't happen, or that there aren't benefits when this is possible. I'm excited for my new ward and friends to talk to.But you never talk to your neighbors. Literally nobody does. You just sit in your own house and interact with your friends. ??????????????????? What in the world are you talking about?????????But you never talk to your neighbors. Literally nobody does. You just sit in your own house and interact with your friends. If YOU dont do something then say that. Literally just say that. Anytime I'm outside MY house, my neighbor runs over and sometimes comes in too. I've also gone into others neighbors houses and hung out for a while (was trying to creep and see what designing they did but saw they were home and decided to just talk) and when someone new would get a plot me along with I do believe 2 others would go and write in their guestbooks. This is just my plot. My boyfriends plot I also sometimes run over to some of his neighbors too. And sometimes they run over too.
We arent even in an RP server and we do that. So I'm gonna go ahead and assume that if it's normal for us, its probably even more normal for RPers. I'm sorry to hear that maybe you're not social or none of your neighbors are, but just because that's the situation that YOU'RE in, doesnt mean its like that for the rest of us lol. Sorry if it doesnt support your narrative.
As much as i love peoples roamming around, that's a fair price to allow everyone to get their hand on a house.
WIldstar did that and it was awesome, by far my favorite housing system to date.
What neighbors? Just about every ward I have visited since I started playing this game has been almost completely empty, and I'm on one of the most congested housing servers in the game.
the neighbours excuse has always been lame as the fecking instanced area is still going to be in a zone that will be bustling with people.
