Did you check your currency tab to see if only a fraction were removed?

I only ask because I hit a problem, a bug I guess, where if you obtain marks in exchange for old skills/treatises they don't count when you go to turn in gil if you don't exit the menu first. Example:

You have 10000 guild marks
You get 20000 guild marks back from old skills/treatises
You select exchange for gil without exiting the menu
You are only given gil for 10000 guild marks

After that happened to me a couple of times I decided to check the currency tab to see if I had simply lost a number of them. The marks I got back from old skills/treatises were still there.

I mean that doesn't excuse the lousy customer service but if that's the issue then at least you haven't lost any marks.

Yes, you're correct. But it also didn't deduct the marks that I exchanged already for each one of them that bugged out, and it likely didn't do the same for you. It's clear that something is amiss regarding the exchange.
