I didn't get to play with YoshiP during the ARR launch, but he played Black Mage on controller with the next table during the Titan Challenge. Of course, it's his baby since the beginning and always will be. The job can never be the best nor can it ever be behind. Has a pretty good quality of life at 90, real fluid job.
Foxclon is a White Mage main. He posts his farming ventures on twitter a lot so he does play when he's not working quite a bit. I just look at Sage as the designers seem to understand what people want, just the battle content team needs to align more content that uses the full kit like often, and stop hand holding casual content too much. We'll see what ultimate is on the heal test scale.
This would just mean that that one healer would be awesome, it wouldn't really save healers as a role.
As it is currently he plays BLM, and it's well designed, the other DPS not so much anymore.

Yaknow we would love to heal if they didn't make healing in this game so pathetic and predictable that theres nothing to it.Oh and while we’re at it, let’s change the name of the role from healer to support. Because that’s exactly what you people seem to want. Most of y’all don’t heal as it is and causing unnecessary party/raid wipes. So yeah let’s rename the healer role to just support with just a few unique heals for each. Kinda like in pvp.
Let’s give every job their own unique spam heal that uses mp just like in pvp. That way the new support can have all these pretty amazing new dps tools and rotations.
I’m sure you all would love that. Let’s do it. Get the petitions ready. Let’s do it.
Also do you even play a difficulty higher than normal? How is anyone dying to from lack of heals?

->Whm was released with misery potency unadjusted for the new glare, holy missing the 1,5 cast to weave heals, lilybell being less powerful than other equivalent heals and with the lowest hps, dps and worst mp management. Idk how much foxclon mains it but either he actually doesn't main it and is unaware of the disjointed mess they created or he has no saying in job design cause no Whm main that knows his shit on earth would have greenlit 6.0 Whm. (Same with 4.0 Whm and 5.0 to some extent)I didn't get to play with YoshiP during the ARR launch, but he played Black Mage on controller with the next table during the Titan Challenge. ->People were asking for more offensive options and our feedback to be acknowledged, Sage has the same offensive actions as Whm which was never considered an ofensive healer (and now even less than whm since misery can be a gain) and in the healing department is a Sch clone with free Aetherflow heals. That coudn't be more far from what people was asking for so no, Sage if anything show that either they don't know what people want or outright refuse to do it. The feedback, other of the things healer mains were asking for, hasn't been acknowledge either with Yoshi-p statements at the beggining of EW about not increasing ofensive actions and esentially telling us "go play Sage" which as said before doesn't tackle any problem and now with the recent "go play ultimate" which once again doesn't solve absolutely anything.
As harsh as this may sound they need to get their head out of their ass when it comes to healers and start giving it the same treatment they do with dps instead of being hell bent on making the job so simple even a monkey coudn't fail

Almost every group I get into that consists of more than 4 people healers won't heal and dps end up dying every single time. It's insane the amount of times I have died in a group when doing mechanics just not being healed due to over all alliance damage being done to the group. I died 9 times in one group I would wait til there was no big splash damage get up after raise not get healed just to die again over and over and over this is all the while I am doing all the mechanics and avoiding everything. These healers I keep getting into groups with just don't care to heal and it's frustrating because a lot of people just use it as a get Q faster scenario and could careless about the party. What game are you playing where Healers can prevent a wipe with healing? Because at least ime, it isnt FFXIV. Most unavoidable damage takes 1-2 oGCDs to heal the whole party up again. And a lot avoidable damage just kills you if you stand in it.
In fact most wipes i see in EX+ content is the result of people eating instant death mechanics.
And i haven't seen any wipes in normal content outside of week one, where noone knows what's going on yet.
And ESP. During dungeons, there's little to no use for Healers depending on the Tank in question. WAR just never needs healing and half the paladins i run into start spamming clemency if they are below 80% health.
And even DRK and GNB are usualy more than fine with just throwing them 1-3 oGCDs each trash pull.
We should tie Yoshi-P to a chair like that one scene in A Clockwork Orange except he’s forced to watch healer gameplay instead of brainwashing stuff. He’ll be physically unable to let a job have less than 20 dps buttons ever again.

I wouldn't agree with this method given it's barbarism at that point - I'd prefer he actually get his hands on Healers and play them for a long period of time - similar to how much he plays BLM on his off time.
Nah it's not the battle content that is the issue, it's very much the gameplay itself, and this has been discussed an innumerable amount of times. No matter how hard, it'll always be about optimizing the highest number of glare/broil/dosis/malefic you do, and there's no alternative.I didn't get to play with YoshiP during the ARR launch, but he played Black Mage on controller with the next table during the Titan Challenge. In essence, sage is perfection to me, it shields and heals by dpsing, which is my kind of gameplay and is all I could ask for (along with a pet healer but the pet became a mere aura a while ago). But it's still dosis spam.
In the current savage you can get away with using half of your CDs, and the next ultimate might require some more, but that won't change the clunky foundation.
I've brought this up a few times, but Toxikon being oGCD could be a simple game changer, in the same line that Misery was made dps neutral. And suddenly you heal to do dmg and don't lose any doing so. There might be overhealing or overtuning for burst phases but you get the idea. There's an infinite number of things they could do but they won't even acknowledge healer gameplay issues.
