So housing issues get addressed by Yoshi-P immediately, but Hrothgar...?

Housing is being immediately addressed because it's a major and urgent bug.

Hrothgar is not being immediately addressed because it's not a bug and it is working as intended.

Yoshi-P did address it in the patch note reading before we could even login and explained that it would take a long time to make the ears appear if that's what everyone wants and that it will reduce amount of hair styles they can do overall.

Yoshi-P has had THREE YEARS to come up with a solution to hairstyle problems that don't involve chopping off our ears to streaming the addition of shared hairstyles that literally no hrothgar player asked for. We have asked for years to get the 8 racial hairstyles that were added in 5.0 and have them be usable across all 4 faces at the Aesthetician. Instead we got the same selection of hairstyles that they gave to Veira despite the fact that nearly all of them look extremely bad on Hrothgar ( i mean have you SEEN the 2B hair? our skull looks like a damn hairy peanut).

3 years in which they had bigger priorities such as new dungeons, raids, MSQ, an expansion and covid. Let's be honest, Hrothgar is not as popular as some as the others and hairstyles in general are not their biggest priority. I suppose they thought this was a good enough compromise to a problem that is hard for them to solve and their gamble didn't pay off, but it's still low priority so I wouldn't expect it to be improved any time soon.

There have been other answers such as expressing how some healers might feel overwhelmed or just want to heal and nothing else, wanting to reduce the burden on healers in pvp because it doesn't fit with how the rest of the content in the game isn't stressful for healers.

Obviously they aren't the answers that people want but they are pretty clear answers. They don't want to make healing stressful or busy. The community can keep pushing for this answer to change, but it doesn't mean there hasn't been an answer.

that is literally not an excuse since Yoshi-P is the one who insisted on having Hrothgar added to the game. He added this half-baked mess of a race and then completely ignored any requests or questions on the subject with a dismissive "it's complicated", despite the fact that modders have fixed the hair and hat problems for hrothgar, and did so within months of them being added to the game. When they added the earless hairstyles in 6.1, they fixed them and re-added ears within HOURS of it going live. There is no justifying or defending their absurdly lazy approach to giving hrothgar new hairstyles. To compound the sheer amount of gall, he had the audacity to go "well.. we COULD add new hairstyles with the ears still attached, but it's going to take a LONG TIME because it's so COMPLICATED." despite the fact he had THREE YEARS to talk to the community about what we wanted done.

If he had done so he would have known FROM THE START that Hrothgar players have, above all, asked for the ability to switch between the 8 racial hairstyles added in 5.0 across the 4 faces at the Aesthetician. There is no excuse outside of laziness that would prevent them from doing even that much considering those 8 hairstyles were already designed specifically to work with hrothgar ears in mind.

What about "The hairs are attached to the heads and they would need to take the time out to redesign the models to separate the hairs from the heads to make that possible" do you not understand? It isn't the easy fix you make it out to be, it would require a full redesign of the Hrothgar models.

except that isn't true either, as i pointed out, Modders ALREADY added all 8 hairstyles across all 4 faces and proved that it can be done without a "full redesign of the hrothgar models".

This is silly.

Can you TECHNICALLY separate the hair model from the head model? Yes, they are separate models after all. What YP has said, a number of times, is that he (For W/E reason) had the devs make Hrothgar without the concept of swapping hairstyles in mind.

What does this mean and what good came outta it? It means that the 4 Hrothgar heads look hella different because they didn't have to worry about making them uniform so that they can share hair. It also means that each head's hair is made to look good on only THAT head and it's features. We got a taste of this when they screwed up the press image for Hrothgar before correcting it.

People were ragging on the race because of the Face 3 Lost with the Face 1 hair looking so lazy. Notice the hair clipping through the ear. Notice the poor clipping of the hairline. Notice how the brow spikes are clipping. Notice how if this Face 3 had the cheek fur face feature on that ... yeah, it would clip horribly with the Face 1 lion mane's temple hair extensions seen in that pic. They WOULD have to change each hairstyle to work on each head if they wanted them to look good, because the 4 Hrothgar heads have 4 different size-n-shaped ears AND foreheads and completely different face features. This is what it means to make them this way, without worrying about them changing hair and mixing them up.

This is not a problem for other races (and hopefully Hrothgals) because they all have the same head shape with different faces instead of completely different heads. Now, knowing this, they can likely design around that for new hair down the road. But that might be 2-3 years waiting for them to release 1 hair that ultimately hides the hairline or w/e to avoid having to make 4 different versions of 1 hairstyle.

So too did they say Viera weren't coming, that they didn't want to make ANY head gear for us, and that Male Viera wouldn't exist.

And lo and behold. Fans asked for it, they saw it and acquiesced. Including the headgear, which people worked behind Yoshida's back so that we wouldn't feel too terrible over them.

That's not really an argument. We can't just quote them on that one thing, because we should also quote them on the times they gave us stuff because we asked.
