    Even if you bought me all of the expansions I'm behind on, paid my sub, and bought me a new PC to play it on, I still wouldn't be interested in going back to WoW, housing or no.

    Half curious if my characters even still exist, come to think of it. How long does Blizzard retain them once you stop paying? I'd check but I don't even remember what server I was on.

    Characters are never deleted. They may force a name change on a level 1 alt because someone wants to use that name, but when I checked it out during the free weekend before Shadowlands I still had old level 1 characters I made back in vanilla.

    They always stay. Only thing that happens is they get delisted from the Armory iirc. The only thing Blizzard doesn't retain is data from low level characters you delete, after a period of time.

    They retain them forever, but you may have been flagged for a rename, as they do that occasionally to inactives.
