    Yes, I quit the role.
    I'm done.

    On paper, it doesn't bother me to do dps during "dead times" when I play healer.
    BUT if the game asks me to spend the majority of my time doing dps in 99% of the game content, then : no (regardless of what my dps options are)

    Besides, I have a big concern on how the mp jauge is integrated in the gameplay now.
    It's simple : even when I actually have to focus on healing (in that 1% content), I pretty much never have to look at it...

    To me, mp management is essential in the interest I have to play healer in the first place.
    If the game allows me to spam constantly my biggest heals without having to worry at all, then again : no. It's mindless.


    Now I'm trying to find interest in the tank role, but if it doesn't match with me, I may go play something else...

    Have you considered black mage? I was just trying to think of jobs with MP management and... well, for SMN and RDM it's a nonissue except if you're trying to rez just after being rezzed or spamming a bunch of rezzes. But for black mage, there's actually a minigame to it at least.

    But unfortunately if you don't like it, well, you won't really find that kind of "using this big move now means I can't later" style of resource management in FF14 generally. FF14's all about uptime and constantly attacking.

    While BLM has MP management it’s more of a sequencing barrier than an actual resource to be managed. Anyone seeking more attrition will find better healer gameplay in FTL. It’s why I value Energy Drain as much as I do. The nominal DPS tax is literally the only thing that makes me care about being efficient at all.

    Indeed. But that's why I noted attrition just isn't really a thing in this game - it just doesn't fit the design. Hence why TP is gone completely and MP only serves to limit rezzing.

    One of the reasons that I'd argue making Phoenix Downs usable in dungeons, increasing the amount you can carry, giving them a cooldown, and giving them out for free when completing certain daily tasks like roulettes would be a much more effective way of making the healing role actually more accessible rather than just throwing more OGCD heals on top of the pile, neutering the frequency of damage taken, and continuing to ignore the clutch GCD heals inexperienced healers rely on.

    Indeed, but why have MP to limit the usage of one spell only ?? It makes no sense !

    Just delete MP completely, put a cooldown on the rez spell with 4 or 5 charges, and bam : same gameplay, easier to balance, and easier to run for the game program.

    Things have reached such a point with this dumb game design we don't have anything to lose anymore...
    Oh, and healers who keep asking for still more free heals will all be happy in the same process.

    In fact, it may not even be needed to put any cooldown at all on the rez spell, and just have free and unlimited rez spells.
    White mage pretty much already has this, since thin air has the same cooldown as swiftcast (this feels so, so stupid....)
    The enrage mecanic is already there to prevent victory if there are too many deads anyway.


    EDIT : Wait, I have an even better idea for you "game designers" : banish death and rez spell completely and make the game this way :
    if a character HP drop to zero, this character gets stunned for a few seconds, then he raises automatically with a dps debuff !
    Better, right ? *sarcarsm*

    I dunno, tanks have a lot of healing these days. For example, Warrior has Bloodwhetting, Nascent Flash, Equilibrium, Shake it off...
