But by your logic, tanks perform another's role as well: they're suppose to grab enemy attention and mitigate damage (tank's CORE) AND dps.
Not to mention, what better way is there to keep your party alive then eliminating the source of the damage?

What a silly argument. How do you expect a tank to hold agro without doing damage? Does a healer need to do damage to heal? Obviously not. Logic indeed.
