FYI there are upper limit caps to stats gained by materia. And 5 materia to an item unless you'd been farming a long time for mats and SBing could cost several hundred million to achieve. I've spent over 100 million and yet to get a 4 meld materia. And also you are wrong there is no cap on number of melds...5 isn't the limit you can do more...

I was talking as like a tree or a base classes then branching out sorry if it sounded like i only wanted 4 classes and that's it. I have always love the ability to change jobs, and i still think its brilliant being able to change whenever.

I still don't like the idea unless the 'skill tree' is not at all permanent. In which case, we would ultimately have exactly what we have now with only 4 different names for classes, which would be lame.

I am one of the few players that sticked it out with SE and FFXIV since Sept 2010 and I completely agree with your statement..we are the ones that took a huge gamble in this game and got very little reward from SE (gobboue mount)...if anything we should be posterized all over lodestone to show that few of us actually believed in SE and in FFXIV and be somehow recognized for it...I wouldn't mind seeing my character's name on lodestone (in a stone tablet format) after the 7th umbral era destroyed Eorzea and be noted as one of the HEROES THAT PERSEVERED THE HARDSHIPS IN EORZEA. That would definitely mean alot to me...

I want a memorial statue with our names in every city ^^

Not defending OP as I don't agree with him (But I respect his opinion) but it is a bit extreme to call people jealous (I notice in other threads too if anyone disagrees they are apparently "jealous"? Ok....)...over a vidya game lol. If they are indeed jealous that is odd...there is nothing to be jealous over. This game is currently easy mode.

I don't want my character wiped and SE already said they aren't doing it.

In case you were seriously making that argument...here's a breakdown:

Summoner was able to main heal with /WHM **because** of Levi and Carb; with those 3 aids (sub job, and the 2 avatars), they became an effective main heal. BLM/WHM was ok for back-up, but it could never in act as main heal, nor could bard, paladin, or any other ridiculous combination.

The point is that there are exceptions to every rule. Just because ONE or TWO classes/jobs are able to exploit a system doesn't mean you abandon it entirely. Ninja and Summoner were a couple of the exceptions in XI. Aside from them, not many other jobs replaced unintended roles. This nonsense about a BLM not being able to cure at all is ridiculous.

No i had smn lvled and in real fight you don't have time to smn carby to heal ppl. Cure III worked just fine and it cost less mp than Healing ruby or spring water and took less time to use anyone who has healed on smn knows Cure III > BP's

lol....PLD/WHM my a$$. If you main healed as pld/whm, then you were in a pretty shitty party. Back when ppl were roaming in Caevdemire or w/e, you could pull it off w/ a smn main heal and still do really well. And I wasn't talking about SMN/WHM *relying on the BPs. They just helped for back up cures that wouldn't pull hate onto main healer, as with a whm. A BLM/WHM could NOT cut it, and wouldn't even be considered. A PLD/WHM sure as hell wouldn't cut it. So, I dunno what you're talking about.

I can't believe you're actually making me break down the argument to include every trivial detail. Either you don't know what you're talking about, never played in a serious party, or simply refuse to acknowledge the fact that the jobs/job restrictions, introduced in the 1.21 patch, were poorly contrived.

I have no problem with people being recognized for their accomplishments...that's why we have lodestone, hero of the day, in-game achievements, and also titles in 2.0 visible among a zillion another things. You forgot many of the current achievements once 2.0 hits will no longer be available and are unique to the current player base. The mounts...potential many weapons like current primal fights.

What I do have a problem is with people who think they deserve something beyond what they are given. The OMG I am the bomb give me or else wah wah wah...

You think you deserve something because you are now suddenly paying for a game. Yet you pay for the game because you want to play. It's SE's job to hold your interest etc etc. Their whole objective is to make money overall...whether it be in the short or long term...

JEALOUS? Did you even read my post? I was more or less saying you whiny little brats need some discipline...if this is what you're being taught these days and how you live...a matter of value and morality...what have you.

I regularly main healed as a DNC/NIN, go out pull and gain TP then main heal away. People said it couldn't be done, and with my never ending flow of TP (which came from pulling/fighting) I proved them wrong.

Don't underestimate those 'ridiculous combinations', sometimes they can do amazing things.
