Alliance roulette changes is needed

100% made an acct with the forum to post something about this and seen its already posted. im here to add into this in hopes something is done about it because, i too tire of doing CT/ST. i want to do more higher tier runs like nier or whatever that matches my level.

What I think should be done, if possible within the game's code structure, is check the maximum possible average item level of gear in your inventory, armory chest, and equipped gear that you can equip, and base your possible queue item level off of that instead of just your currently equipped gear, and prevent moving items from outside (saddlebag for example) of these three into them after queue has popped.

This would prevent item level cheesing to get the lower level raids altogether, as you could still get higher level raids with a lower item level of equipped gear, at which point if you got a higher level raid and didn't swap to your higher item level gear, you'd be considered to be griefing and could be subsequently kicked/blacklisted/reported.

Of course, this does nothing for those who simply never unlocked the higher level raids, especially since the CT series is required for the MSQ and the rest are not.

At the very least, they should add Ilvl sync to the CT raids so they can be experienced at the intended difficulty. The reason people cheese the roulette is because CT is quick and easy, and the reason it's quick and easy is because everyone's at an item level WAY higher than what's intended. So you get to skip all of the boss mechanics, and everything dies in 3 minutes.

But sync everyone's item level, and the raids become more difficult (making them more engaging and enjoyable to play through) and take longer to complete (so people are less likely to specifically seek them out for quick rewards.)

Then on top of that, make the rewards from the roulette change depending on the length. Do a 15-minute CT raid? Then you'll get half the rewards of a 30-minute raid.

Unfortunately there's still the fact that CT is the only required alliance raid for the MSQ, so even without people spoofing roulette it would still be more frequent than the other raids. Not really sure how they could fix that; forcing people to unlock the other raids would be disruptive for the MSQ and probably annoy a lot of people, and adding it to main scenario roulette (as I've seen a lot of people suggest) would make people leave Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium even more, since CT raids are far quicker.

This is my first time coming here to provide a feedback. I think it is very important SquareEnix see how people are struggling to complete these older raids due to bad actors unequipping their gear and selfishly forcing everyone who does Alliance Raid Roulette into the Crystal Tower raids.

I wonder what is the proportion of lvl 80+ players that don’t have them all unlocked? It could be pretty high as this content can be easily skipped. That is probably a major contributing factor to the other raids not popping.

I only recently, after EW's release, got attuned for, and completed all of the Alliance Raids in the game. CT was done back in 2.0, but NiER and Ivalice didn't get done until it five or six months before EW dropped. I may never have done Ivalice if it hadn't been required for Bozja. Void Ark was the last one, getting fully unlocked a month or so after EW release.

I've pretty staunchly been anti-raiding in this game for various reasons, but decided to get them done for completeness sake. I won't lie, any time a not Crystal Tower raid pops for the roulette I get a bit bummed out. I'm only doing the roulette for the rewards and appreciate the general ease and clear speed of the CT raids for this. Yeah, it does get tedious at times, just like getting the same Alexander bits for 90% of the Normal Raid queues. I'd rather have something that I can just go through the motions and be done quickly than the alternative.

Partner and were talking about this recently after getting another level 50 alliance raid in a row (several rows, tbh). Just make it so whatever gear you had on when you land is what you do the raid in. No item swaps of any kind. Any gear that you get which is better (unlikely, considering I can't remember the last time I saw anyone actually on level for these, much less rolling for the loot) can be equipped when done and outside the instance.

Holy sh*t hahaha I never knew people took it to such an extent! I always queued for Alliance Roulette and mostly I got ARR's, but I never knew that this happened because this kind of people did this on purpose. I thought every1 was just around level 50ish and climbing to 60 on their alt classes. That aside yes I just realized I never got a single Nier Alliance Raid from roulette during my climb to 90 from 80ish from my alt classes.

I think that the constant CT is mostly not a result of people unequipping their gear. Even if you are required to wear level-appropriate gear to sign up for the roulette, I still think you'd see Crystal Tower most of the time because there are simply far more people who qualify for it. It's the lowest level alliance raid, and the only one in the MSQ. So if you get matched with even 1 person who is below level 60 or who has not done any side content then you will get CT, guaranteed.

I think if they were to force you to qualify for more raids to sign up, you'd see more people dropping out of the longer/harder raids if they didn't get CT, and it'd make alliance raid harder to join in general because of the stricter requirements.

IMO the solution should be to separate Crystal Tower into its own roulette. People who only want easymode CT get easymode CT, and everyone else who is cool with anything can get a bonus non-CT raid to do each day. Right now even if 23/24 people in a roulette were fine with any raid, if even one person insisted on CT then everyone's roulette bonus for the day is used up on CT and so they can't populate anything else. Separate roulette solves the problem completely.

Pretty much. To get Nier in roulette every single person needs to be 80+ and have the raids unlocked. Meanwhile it only takes a single person below 60 to force the other 23 into CT.

Really they just need to make the roulette rewards more dynamic. If the longer level 80s gave more exp and tomes than the faster level 50s you'd probably have fewer people complaining about them.
