I think the easiest fix would be to allow players to queue either solo or as a premade party of exactly 5 players, and make it so if you join as a premade, you will only get matched against another premade.

I think people forget that with the premades people were win trading and locking out anyone else from competing. The feast didn't die because it was healthy. Blame your peers, not SE. SE's move here is deliberate as it is disciplinary.
I've been having great fun in Ranked CC. It's RNG for everyone. Sometimes my team rolls people. Sometimes my team gets rolled. If people on the internet had a lick of integrity maybe things would be different.
I think it is better for CC to accept duo queue as maximum. It should be flexible enough to find group (strictly 5 v 5 premade will be painful once the hype passes) and offer some teamwork.
Sweet so I can actually have fair matches?
In that case I can‘t wait for the easter weekend to finally play it![]()
Good.
No more win trading or premades (like usually in frontlines to stomp easily both alliances) against randoms/ people who can't communicate properly
Although the issue is ultimately the lack of premades-vs-premades. But then looking over at WoW even they had have had major issues maintaining the population for rated-battlegrounds which need premades and thus people have taken to demanding solo queues for it.Interesting enough, this was the same excuse people used when they removed the ability to go into FL with an 8 man premade. There was a specific group in a discord that would organize 3 groups of 8 for FL queues and all queue as adders to get grouped together (because adders was the less popular GC). They would just stomp FL for hours and people quit the mode and just didn't play whenever the premade was on. There were complaints and asks for changes. Then when SE forced freelancer and limited premade parties to 4 they came ind rives to complain about "not being able to queue with all their friends" and about how "this is going to kill FL" and how it was ruined now. All the same arguments for CC are being made again now.
So if you are sad the premades are unavailable, blame them for ruining it because they abused it.
I would agree in the sense of, what is the harm of having the option for a "ranked" 4-player league and a separate solo league.
Maybe they are afraid of Win-swapping and the likes, but in all honesty with how fast the games go, I feel like it's a moot point.
The option to have an official team pvp would allow for a community to form but they do stifle the development of the community by not allowing it to an extent.
Sadly as it stands now if one wishes to have a team v team setup, they would have to manually make a Discord, setup teams, understand that the only "rewards" available would be from what the sponsor of the game offers, like say 1 mil gil, or some rare mount, or a minion, but it wouldn't count towards any in-game progression, nor would there be a decent record of win rates other than what people report themselves.
It surprises me they aren't pushing more to encourage people to team up together and test their skills, it's just 5 people on each side. One could easily get maybe 20 teams interested, maybe a best of 3, every weekend. So at most each round takes 30-40 mins or so and if anything to keep it interesting maybe they could have their own in-game rules.
Much like how MOBA's have the ability to "Ban" a character, each side could ban a job that neither side can use with the other rule being let's say you need to use 1 Tank, 1 Healer and 3 DPS.
Then their could be other unique rules like "No Copycat" where each side takes turns picking the job they will use and in between rounds, the loser could choose to "ban" another job, to keep things interesting.
Given the nature of the content, and limited toolkit each pvp job has, it wouldn't be to difficult to suggest that each player would have knowledge of different play styles, and understanding how to utilize those toolkits to achieve their end goal. Would also prevent mirror matches and the like, but of course this is all community driven.
Maybe that's what needs to happen though, much like how some servers had their Rival Wings night in which during a small time frame of 8pm-12am+ people would queue up and face off against one another, each Server Cluster could setup their own system in which during a set time frame "Sanctioned" matches will occur that will lead to a Final, and if they show how popular it is, maybe SE will then step up and put something in game to make it a reality.
Cause you gotta keep in mind, SE at one point had tried to create a PVP-experience that they felt could work as an "Official" E-Sport, but it fell flat, given their track record it makes sense why they are being so cautious this time. In-house, they were having fun with the new PVP, but that's their bias opinion, they can't know how the players would actually react, I imagine they are happy with the reaction they currently have and it could lead them to do more with the pvp, but as it stands now, I think the best way to make some noise is to just find like-minded people interested in starting a league and step up.
If the idea of competing against 5v5 TeamXTeam intrigues you, then start a Discord, or find an active PVP Discord with a likeminded interest, or even check Reddit for anyone interested.
If it gets as popular as one may think, then the next step could be to determine an Official Server to play from so that everyone could join in, however that in itself is tricky due to how it's currently limited by needing the job at 30 and such. So another potential thought or rather future prospect could be that if this PVP type does catch on and make some noise, then SE could again step up and just have a generic system where players can play any job regardless of what level the job is in an "official" team format.
Make a PvP Team with your Friends.
Play with them Crystaline Conflict.
Profit
You never get a 'fair' match in PvP, but at the very least you can come out on top with rng and superior play at times.
When you would run against premades in Casual, you will pretty much lose all the time.
So what's the lesser evil for the majority of casuals?
