    Sage has floating laser guns.

Otherwise, they tried to make a gun-toting chemist 7 years ago and didn’t like how it turned out and salvaged AST and MCH out of it.

Also, not sure how this is “another” example of role double-standards. What ones are there? How is this a double-standard when there was never any promise or male viera-sized effort to get a tech-based class for any of the roles?

Not gonna lie, that class sounds like it would've been dope.
Just having mental images of a healer jumping around the place throwing healing potions and strength potions at party members for healing and DPS buffs. They could've had a unique Esuna called Remedy that also threw on some healing or a defensive buff along with it. LB3 could've been a Megalixir.

Great. I'm now hyped over a class that's probably never going to exist.

    1. Tank and Healer both spend most of their time DPSing and do most of their role actions off the GCD, but only tanks are allowed to have DPS rotations beyond 21111111 spam.

    2. Square is fine with no-healer runs of difficult content, but throws a fit whenever somebody manages a no-tank run of that same content. Exhibit A: In ARR, SMNs figured out Titan-egi could tank Ramuh EX pretty well, and people did no-tank clears of Ramuh EX. Square didn't just patch that out, they hotfixed it. Meanwhile, P1S and P2S are clearable without healers, as is UcoB.

    3. Tanks and Healers have both been passed over twice for new jobs, while DPS has never been skipped - every expansion has gotten at least one new DPS job.

3a. Healers were the only role that was skipped twice in a row: SB and ShB.

    4. DPS jobs are allowed to have different play styles and levels of complexity and utility. Tanks and healers are all homogenous - DRK is just a WAR that spent too much time hanging out at Hot Topic, and all four healers play exactly the same: spam your identikit 21111111 DPS "rotation" and mash one of your eleventy oGCDs whenever healing is needed.

    5. When DPS jobs are broken, they get major fixes mid-expansion (see: NIN in 5.1). When healer jobs are broken, they get ignored for a minimum of two years (see: WHM lilies in all of Stormblood).

    6. DPS and tank questions get honest answers on the Live Letters. Healer questions get ignored, or rephrased and spun, or dismissed out of hand ("gO pLaY uLtImAtE" - Yoshida).

    7. Yoshida, an orange-parsing BLM, kicked a just-starting-to-clear-EXs healer out of his playtesting group for being "too good."

    8. Yoshida refuses to increase the level of required healing in encounters, and has in fact consistently reduced it every expansion post-HW, because he doesn't want to "stress" healers, but sees no problem with tight DPS checks or mechanics that require tanks to be on point (swaps, shared busters, etc.).
