Limsa aka: Woke town Erpville? Yeah that Limsa hehe. hate that place.Materia likely won't have the same problems with housing supply that other data centres have, so I don't think the lottery serves much of a purpose here.
At best, it should just be an option for those people who might prefer it, even though I think majority FCFS makes more sense for a new DC like ours.
Making all plots lottery-based just delays opening up an entire section of the game that is currently closed off to OCE players.
Other than it taking longer to be able to play a large part of the game, this delays starting up our already slow economy where an entire category of items is unsellable. It delays our ability to build a new community. There is no supply for certain glamour items that come from submarines and airships too.
As a personal side note, crafting without housing merchants is unpleasant and I can't wait to get out of Limsa.
"Fanboy is gaming jargon used to describe an individual that has gone beyond the point of being a PC or console game fan and, during online chats or discussions, shifts to defend the program at all costs, unable to take any criticism or acknowledge any shortcomings of the game or gaming console."
Only 5 personal estate wards.
Square enix is so out of touch that my sides are burning. Ravana doesnt even have enough FCs to fill half of the entire wards.
Six for personals. 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 - 1800 plots in total over all housing districts.
It will be a sea of empty plots 1-18 and packed to the gills for 19-24.

SE were very creative in making it as bad as possible for OCE players. Props.
Agreed. We know they have the ability to make each world different. Even if they didn't want to go to that much effort for every world with the lottery's release, it would have made sense to do it for Materia.
they just did it this way so that they force players (or entire FCs) onto Materia, the ones that don't mind to break their social circles, abandon their FCs and friends all for a chance to actually own a house. I really hope this will blow up in their faces, and soon.
Nah, it's not spite, it's just not thinking outside JP and all the complaints they had about FCs moving into the new virtual datacentre they are making there (and there were a lot of those complaints). "We abandoned our FC house on the old DC and moved already, but we will still never get a FC house" they were saying. So, SE address that this way. Come next patch, when the moved JP FCs have their plots, things might slide back a bit.
What is clear though - absolutely clear - is that the wise strategy on Materia is now to use one's single ticket to get the personal first, and then only go into the FC wards for the FC haus when the second round or third round happens. There is no way the FC houses will run out, but it's probable the personals will.
Best suggestion I can give to people who were planning both... Grab that personal in round 1, come back for the FC later.
