New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

The worst part of the treatment? They only added Viera because of fans begging for it since ARR. Hrothgar was something THEY wanted to add. But as we've seen, Viera apparently takes priority in every blasted field. At this point I've gone from being indifferent to Viera to hating their inclusion, as it's apparent at this point that Viera is the reason Hrothgar cannot get anything.

i wish this wasn't true, but it is. i genuinely have grown to hate viera as a race because it came about as a result of people having a conniption fit and sending death threats to the developers. Now Hrothgar is treated like an afterthought because the devs are so preoccupied with making sure the viera players dont have another god damn meltdown because they dont have their five billion shared hairstyles and several dozen unique racial hairstyles

Based. But when you try to bring that up, people say the petition/complaint threads are about "both" races. Except one of said races has gotten the preferential treatment over the last couple of years, but let's ignore that.

It really says a lot when the people in charge of the game introduced the Hrothgar hairstyles while laughing. I sure feel loved and appreciated.

What you guys said. I felt the same about Viera since day 1. I didn't like them (concept and design they were another pretty girl in the ocean of pretty girls) and was upset because I thought that they were the reason for all of Hrothgar's shortcomings. Having been pushed at the same time and from their design to their implementation it was clear about who the devs cared more.
But even with that, I don't resent the fact that they have been added. No, it's not Viera's fault it's the devs. They shot themselves in the foot by saying this would be the last race they will add. They could have simply said we can only add 1 race at a time. Pushed one first and waited until 7.0 to add the other race that they wanted to add in Shadowbringers (the order doesn't matter in this instance, cause they would have told the players that they will be coming). This way both groups would have been happy to receive well cared for complete models.
Even though deep inside I still am resentful about Viera, their addition made Hrothgar a poor mess that you apparently need a rocket science degree to fix, then Female Hrothgar got shafted for Male Viera. It looks a lot better for them when they appear to be working on something they are revealing, even if they aren't. "We have no plan, but here they are" doesn't exactly hype people up. I'd have appreciated their honesty in regards to Hrothgar though, that way I couldn't be let down later. lol

When they said they were working on new hairs for Hroth I got excited. Then we finally see them and we got literal ports of UNFITTING hairstyles for Hrothgar.
How do you not even put in the windcaller haircut from BOZJA but you put in both Nier cuts which are so out of place on a hroth. And I haven't even touched the fact that their ears are gone.

People are quick to lump them together because they released simultaneously with similar limitations to their headwear. But that's where the similarities start and end. Bunny boys launching first is proof enough which of these two the devs care about more.

This. Yoshi-P jumped the gun trying to implement both races at the same time.

Now it'll probably take years for both races to be fully fixed and probably twice long for Hrothgar (particularly the male half) because he royally messed up on not just taking his time getting them both done one at a time.

Ignore the screeching masses and do what you gotta do, Yoshi-P! Don't rush too many things out at once, because this is the result.

Edit: Also, the FIRST thing he should have fixed with the Hrothgar hair was not adding existing hairstyles but just making the ones fixed to the individual faces usable by all the different face types without Fantasia. Easily could have avoided this whole troublesome situation if he did that...

I kind of feel that nothing will be mentioned at all, just swept under the rug essentially and it'll happen again.
I HOPE NOT, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did this again to Hrothgar.

I definitely have to chime in and also mention how disappointing these look, I changed to Hrothgar only somewhat recently after how cool they looked, but these are just so.. off. Having the ears just culled off makes it look really strange outside of the one with a hat, and even then it would probably still work with the ears too.

It is nice to see a discussion about this topic getting some support and active conversation. Truthfully, when I saw the unveiling of the new hairstyles, I thought it was a trick, especially with the April 1st date and laughing that was occurring during the reveal. Still, after seeing the preliminary patch notes showing the same hairstyles and the fact that the Hrothgar ears are still missing, I realized that it likely wasn't and felt disappointed.

I'll reserve final judgment until after the patch releases, as I'm hoping that we will at least be able to freely select between the hairstyles currently tied to all the Hrothgar face options and that we won't need to use a Fantasia to do so. If we, at least, get these additions, I will be happy enough with the changes, as it will be a significant step up from being able to use only one hairstyle. If we don't, it'll be disheartening. Except for the Snow hairstyle, I honestly don't see myself using any of the options shown, especially since the ears are gone, so it'll feel like the entire period of waiting for new hair, and the excitement over the addition was just a waste.
