New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? Because as it stands Male Viera are literally structured in the exact same way female ones are, they both have holes in their hairs, they both lack hair deforms, they both lack hats (mostly due to the former), and their ears are the same.

I believe that they said something about it in a live letter, of them learning from the Female Viera model so they built differently the male model to be easier to work with. I am not sure.

YP said that the devs did have to make changes to the Viera head model to allow Shared Hair to work, and said Male Viera were built with these changes already in mind. Also, could just be my taste, but Male Viera seem to look better in Shared Hair than Female Viera and that could be because they were designed with the thought of using shared hair in mind.

Hrothgar were never designed with human like hair being foreseen as a possible thing they would have to deal with, so at first their ears were part of their head like every non-Miqote race. According to YP, they've now made their ears part of their hair model to allow these Shared Hairs, but Hrothgar have 4 different ears and in doing so they had to leave the ears out of the Shared Hair. If they make Hrothgals with the idea of Shared Hair in mind, it may change how they go about designing their ears. To put it simple, I could see them making Hrothgals have only 1 set of ears and making them in a spot that's easier to account for, just like Miqote have. I mean, it's clear that YP doesn't think this is good but saw it as the only way to get this to work on the dudes, so it would make sense to try to not repeat the same thing with Females who are being made at a time when you know you're giving them shared hair.

But that's just me pulling at nothing, I don't mind the wig look at all personally, so as long as the females look good I'm playing them.

I mean, we're gonna find out in a few days. Hrothgar's current state is "Ears are a part of head model". YP says they changed that to "Ears are a part of hair model" now ... gonna be easy to see what's what when people unpack the new models.

That may as well be, but the whole thing about Male Viera is nothing but PR, also won't this just lock specific type of ears to specific hairs anyway? At that point it doesn't make sense to not have ears on the "shared" hairs, because it's not like the other options respect your choice.

EDIT: Literally nothing has changed on the female side.

Viera have multiple set of ears, they don't seem to have any issue with their hairstyles.

For Viera, I can't tell what they did because I didn't look at their 5.0 models and compare them to their 6.0 models. As far as I can tell, no one bothered to do that. But like I said, I do think Male Viera rock old hair better than the females. Seems to fit them better.

As for Hrothgar, the only reason I don't dismiss the idea that Hrothgar will be able to use other head's hairstyles is because of the ear comment. Each Hrothgar head has different sized and shaped ears and their hair is designed to play well with that head's ears. If you wanted different Hrothgar faces to use different head's hair and still look good, one thing you might do is make the ears a part of the hair so that when face 3 uses face 1's hair, you don't end up with something like this Hrothgar on the right (They corrected this on the site with the proper face not long after posting it). So I can see them thinking it's more important to make the hairs FOR Hrothgar look good regardless of the head then to have everything turn into a clippy cheap looking mess.

Again, time will tell if they did in fact make other Hrothgar hairs (with their ears attached) useable for each face. We in guess land rn.

Like seriously as a main SCH I cried when I got my job gear, because I couldn't wear the hat AGAIN, while all others were posing next to me and shouting "Just use mods!"

And now this...... after all the time we patiently waited..... we get THIS?!

It felt like one of the worst jokes ever. I'm sick of being left out on glams and all.

Well sad to say, but if it continiues like this, Endwalker will be my last expansion.
