i have some doubts around that.
as much as i would like to believe it it's very VERY common for japanese companies to try and push the image that they're fans, too. cellphone charms that are technically your uniform, toys, gadgets, gizmos and other knickknacks that they enjoy are typically dispersed around them or on their person in an attempt to casually advertise products. i read a lot of japanese news and watch TV from there, it's basically a modus operandi at this point to make your job -- no matter what the job is -- your life's work.

from people who serve coffee and re-stock vending machines to people who sell bidets. you aren't just an employee at the cafe, you ARE the cafe. you ARE the coffee guy/girl. you ARE the bidet man. it feels just as hollow to the japanese as it does when, say, companies in america pretend they're excited for some new movie or tv show or an as seen on TV product (george foreman grill, etc). of course yoshi-p has proven time and time again that he's genuine, i would still take what he claims with a grain of salt.

in the end this is a corporation and corporations will do what they can for your cash, including pandering to their audience.

not saying don't believe him but also saying don't hold your breath. if square knew they could sell 10 million copies of ffxiv by having yoshi-p come out on stage and insist the irl moon was made of popotos, they'd have him live in a heartbeat doing just that.

hopefully the concerns and discontent over these hair choices will be addressed in the near future.
If more people spoke up about the lack of good hairstyles and lack of variety, something might eventually happen. But im still waiting on Lyse and Hilda's hairstyles years later.

If I was to put my money on it, I would say they wouldn't suffer the same limitations. Just like they did with male Viera, they would probably create a model that would work around the limitations (aka putting the ears in the same place as Miquo'te ears). And since a lot of MMOs have a beast race the males will look beastly while the female will be made to look conventionally attractive. What I expect them to do with females is to take the body of a female highlander, create a more attractive beast face on them (let's pray for a more feline look rather than a human look) and place the ears in the same place as Miquo'te ears.

Asked around for dropping some tests, and the results are... tad baffling.

Having a full vanilla Viera world has the same impact as higher poly + 4k textures Hroth.
Both vanilla gives 5-10% more fps with Hroth only.

No true measures set, but even those samples tell a bit about stuff, maybe. So let the results sink a bit.

not entirely correct. while they did play wow while fixing FFXIV, yoshi also said he actually was more interested in Ultima Online back in the day and supposedly took A LOT of inspiration from that.

the main inspiration ffxiv had drawn from wow is its UI. it just gets most the credit because WoW was the biggest MMO in english speaking countries. WoW in the headline brings in the clicks, not Ultima Online.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? Because as it stands Male Viera are literally structured in the exact same way female ones are, they both have holes in their hairs, they both lack hair deforms, they both lack hats (mostly due to the former), and their ears are the same.
