I likely won't see your replies to my posts so if it's important, /tell Lem Ayase@Kujata .
As a player from Brazil I also face the same issue. My average ping to NA servers is 170ms, and I’ve been wanting to play reaper, however, everytime I perform the void reaping/cross reaping combo, lemure’s slice causes clipping before the next skill. While this may not seem like a big deal it does causes issues in a fight. This tiny delay could potentially make you unable to do a finishing hit on a boss or complete the whole combo before a boss jumps into a transition phase. And as many have been commenting for years, it makes machinist not fun at all to play.
Unfortunately, after the servers moved to the west coast, the ping increased by a lot for more players than not, but even before that, ppl with more than 100ms already had this issue with ninja, but now we have it with other classes too since the implementation of these 1.5s gcd skills, alone with the ever present double weaving incapability even with as much as 2.48s gcd, as a summoner for example.
I hope this will be acknowledged soon, as more and more people seem to be moving towards third party software that could potentially be harmful to fix something that’s been overlooked for so long.
Having played other mmos, I have not experienced this issue before FFXIV, even with lower global cooldowns than in this game, so I can, with all confidence say it’s not a connection issue, but rather an issue with the delay being built in the game.
I have a 33 ms ping on Chaos servers from the EU and i still have weird 0,3 0,4 second delay between an animation playing and the real impact of an attack that FORCES me to anticipate everything, and skill queueing is about the same very very subtle delay but i think it's enough to make me loose major combo numbers on the duration of a full fight if everything is on slight delay and i have to anticipate my next skills / combo's and things that aren't poping up on time on my skill bar.
I tried things like forcing nvidia reflex anti lag tech and such but it just don't seem to work with ffxiv. I thought it was my screen, i bought a 1 ms 144hz ips one, i thought it was maybe my mouse, and keyboard, so i bought those supposed "lightspeed" types with better dpi, doesn't change this delay. I don't know, i tried a few angles to problem solve this on the hardware and software end, maybe i should use some kind of anti lag vpn ? or is this very slight lag "part" of the game in the end and just deal with it ?
Especially outrageous on shiva's type of explosion on phoinix (p3s), i avoid them no problem but it's like playing a very slightly anticipate the real explosion that detonated way before the "visual" effect is displayed. It's very subtle and a tiny delay but it still exists, and it's sometimes enough to have trust issues with what you see on screen if you don't know the fight by heart.

What an amazing difference the OCE datacentre had for me. It's like, all of a sudden... omg I can press 2 oGCDs here and they both actually fire? What the hells!
Now that I've finally seen the other side after 9 years on NA servers, the janky netcode is a serious limitation to playing at any level past crafting. It has to be redone for the benefit of everyone.
Went back to my old NA server earlier today to see if it was that different and at 220-280ms instead of OCE's 18ms it's feels like glue sticking up the keys. Well familiar, but it's shocking now that I know how well the game plays at low latency.

Having played in NA before transferring (from 190ms to 90ms), I definitely understand the struggle.
Which is why I'm more happy than sad to see my Aus buddies transferring to OCE just so they can play at a better ping.
Meanwhile, I constantly play with a friend who lives in JP... who sometimes flexes how he can dibs out of aoe last second. :S
I've had literal "Instant Cast" abilities fail while I've been moving with an "interrupt" message. How the hell can an instant cast ability be interrupted?!
In no world should that happen
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
My previous place had a very powerfull and stable connection with low ping (20ms), i didn't quite care about that animation lock/clipping thingy since it didn't affected me directly. But now i'm in a place with a very variable 60/90ms and most of the jobs i liked to play became unpleasant/unenjoyable because of clipping, skills that doesn't land in time on the target, unexpected interruptions during cast, healing never felt so slow, i'm in a constant fear on having the heal landing way to late even when the cast finishes on time, even instants take their sweet time to land.
I hope SE will fix this because I'm really hesitating to seek informations about the 3rd party latency mitigators existing, since people on discord/forums tend to say that it really helps without breaking anything in the game.
Yeah having pretty much any latency over like 50 in this game feels worse than in any other MMO I've personally played, and my internet connection used to be worse than it is now. The effects are just so much more obvious and disruptive.

I’m so glad noclippy and xivalexander exist because devs can’t understand there is lag when you don’t play on 0 ping JP servers
It seems the thread is dead but yeah I'm a player from Brazil that's trying to clear a savage for the first time. I have to fight the boss and the ping lol
As sad as it can be, I don't think SE will do something for us here.
