They're actually gaining ground quite rapidly by making a game that appeals to everyone, not just hardcore players.

Am completely unwilling to spend same amount of time I have on past stuffs explaining why it is impossible to appeal to everyone. When someone does find that secret sauce please share it with a Mia. Would have saved months of headaches when I was in software development.

Friends and extended family, I have invited many of them to play and they do appear to really really enjoy the game. Massive variance in opinions from "I think it is okay but it could do better" to "Meh, I give it one or two more years." Some have taken quite lengthy breaks, did not even make it past post ARR. Others only play because we play together. Several of the extended family is burnt out on the community calling it umm.. cancerous. 3.6 Roentgen, not great not terrible.

There was other game I did play that removed my group raise, many of my debuffs, group bubble and six or so other skills from my Cleric. That game was Aion and I stopped playing Aion.

Can be naïve at the times but I am not that fricken naïve. Am painfully aware of signs for when something is going from; Fun and engaging piece of interactive media to so simple tis practically a movie.. and not even a good one. Mass appeal, gotta love that there word. More like massively disappointing.

Because thats the kind of SMN that would waste a GCD on a 200 health heal when they could be doing around 20,000 damage with their spells. I don't think it can even save a tank from an auto attack at this point. But instead of contributing to killing the boss quicker so the party doesn't wipe to a damage check or have to see additional mechanics that could wipe the party they have decided to waste their GCD on something worthless prolonging the encounter instead of adding value.

For a SMN heal to barely save a fight it would mean that the fight would be easily winnable if the SMN actually damaged the boss and killed it faster.

There is such a thing as opportunity cost and efficiency. A RDM heal and a PLD clemency may be a different argument because even though it is preferable for them to DPS there are some scenarios where they can sustain party members long enough to win an encounter. A SMN heal is so inefficient it has no such capability.

There's also the fact that SMN can tap into some decent healing via simply continuing its dps rotation into the phoenix phase. Granted, it may not coincide with when you need it but I think your other points solidify why Physick has no real use case here.

Why wouldn't a SMN heal? If it came down to it and a heal no matter how small won the fight, it's worth it. You should bring everything to the table, not doing so is just lazy and is why the player base is the way that it is. Because people promote mediocre skills rather than pushing people to do better.

Because Summoners can’t heal. Physik is not a legitimate heal at all. RDM has a true heal. Summoner does not outside the Phoenix portion of their dps rotation.

Physik is totally useless. No good summoner actually uses it in any relevant content.

If you are a SMN, you Rez the real healer and let the tank handle it until the healer is up. If they aren’t a DRK, they have way more heal potency than you do. Even DRK has more heal potency that a summoner. Hell, a reaper has more heal potency. Don’t even bother.

I thought in terms of overall dps heal potency it’s like, Smn>DnC>Reaper. While smn’s is only under phoenix, they have both the very good aoe regen and rekindle which is a ST heal with a regen iirc. Plus i thought reaper regen got nerfed but i might be misremembering. But either way yeah, just rez the healer at that point lol. A Smn heal ability isn’t usually going to make or break a run.

They could create hidden trait that upgrades Summoner Physick into :Physick (SMN): within code then copy paste skill or I do not know.. remove it would work. Fork Physick into Physick (SCH) and Physick (ACN) in code base then can remove from Summoner. Mah.. what am I even saying, dev team too busy with big sweeping changes like Regen now costs 100 less MP...

Oh i didn’t mean physick i know it’s pretty trash xD i meant Rekindle which is a 600 potency single target heal that scales off int and then everlasting flight which is a 100 potency per tick aoe regen that also scales off int.

Aye! Those are pretty decent. Heck, you can actually drop one or both healers during Extremes for this or bring Summoner instead of Healer for expert dungeons. Was more of general comment for several posters and had no clue who I should reply too. ;P

Speaking of dropping healers for deeps... Feels great, really makes me wish to continue playing must say.
