    i can agree that the glam should work at level 90 but i think the distinction is that prior to level 90 it uses the old egi system and post it seems to use an avatar system, so i think we would need a new gamour system for the Demis and the level 90's because conversely Egi glamour works on the carbuncle at your feet.

    For me i kina want carbuncle to be permamant and if tht means he doesnt attack then fine. As much as i like carbuncle i really dont want to see other options, i would rather they add glamour solutions to the demis and level 90 that are different i.e the waring triad, Ramu, shiva, Leviathan,SHB Light wardens, Eden Titan, Eden Ifrit, Eden Garuda (tho i dont think looks differnt) hell use the FFXV colab garuda design EWTrial 1 and EW trial 2.

    I do think they have a lot of options, if they want to down the glam system. Having said that, I suspect that a lot of these versions will come in future expansions.

    But before all that, i really want them to solve the rotational issues and rigidity within the class itself.

    Considering how ridiculously dumb a giant red carbuncle dropping out of the sky and casting hellfire would look, I am 100% ok with the ability to glam the avatars as carbuncles. That'd be hilarious.

    You have far more hope in the team than I do. I remember them promising us more glamours (including just more different colored carbuncles) back in 3.55. We're almost at 6.1. They never delivered, despite saying this entire time (pre-6.0) that it was being worked on.

    I'm in the opposite camp. Let me put my own shield up instead of being limited to only when carbuncle is out... then just delete the carbuncle entirely as a combat thing.

    Let people still summon them like a minion of they want them, but its use is pretty pointless now.

    If it somehow becomes possible to have both Carbuncle and your summons exist at the same time then I would say lean harder into carbuncle as a support type and give him more abilities, but I just don't think that is possible. We could even summon Carbuncle himself for these support abilities which would be nice but it feels to me summons have an incredibly long animation lock, meaning summoning carbuncle for support means being unable to do anything else except ruin or whatever gemshines you have left. Given the way it is I suspect that carbuncle is only here because it is for whatever reason impossible to code summoner to use the egis/demis without him.

    I wish they would remove carbuncle, because I think that would be something of a wake-up call to everyone who is "just now trying summoner" and finds no problem with it. Removing carbuncle, a core part of the class and lore, makes it blatantly clear that the new summoner is just not fun enough to stand on its own. Plus, you can bet people would be rioting over losing the cute pet the same way SAM mains are rioting right now over the 6.1 changes.

    I'm more saddened by the Searing Light change. I get that it removes a layer of clunk that didn't need to be there in the first place, but I really like the concept of having the Carbuncle transition into a form of support for the SMN--like they're personal caddie of sorts providing resources to the SMN to best utilize their Demi-Summon rotation, but a big problem is that Carbuncle has to dismiss when Demis are summoned. From what's been discussed before, there seems to be issues with the old code that make having multiple summons currently impossible. I think it would be greatly beneficial to SMN if this could be resolved, because there's no need for Carbuncle to be dismissed anymore from a gameplay standpoint. If that can get fixed someday, it would mean Carbuncle could more heavily lean into being the SMN's resource manager.

    I think with that change in mind, it would make a lot of sense to change Energy Drain into Carbuncle giving you Aetherflow to perform some kind of OGCD summoning that could replace Fester and Painflare with Bismarck & Ravana themed actions of some sort. Additionally, Carbuncle reactivating one of your spent gemstones between demi summons would be extremely helpful for when you need to delay your next Bahamut/Phoenix for some reason. It kinda sucks when you're dealing with dungeon trash and run out of Gemstones, but are so close to the next boss and don't wanna waste a full Bahamut burst on half a wave, or in boss fights where the party delays the buff window because of a boss phase or potions. Without your summons, your gameplay gets reduced to healer levels of boring.

    you would still summon the carbuncles at lower levels instead of the egis and if you so desire continue summoning them until lvl 90 with the glamours, so it isn't like there wouldn't be carbuncle anywhere in the job. Besides lore hardly concerns them when making job changes since they redesign AST cards every expac regardless of what lore and job quests say.

    Just as a note: part of the reason this upsets me is that the change to summons is cool and all, but this game’s visual customization is very good for the MMORPGs I’ve seen. I’ve not seen many though so caveat there. But in terms of visual glamours they’ve been working very hard to give all clothes so many options visually and it feels like they want to limit it after opening a door back in HW. And on top of that they kept teasing more options through Alphinaud and an Anima Relic Quest side character.

    However, let it not be known that I am for removing the primals now that we have it just so I can have my summons glamours or again. However if I could go back and remove a level from Summoner to keep it from happening I would. The point being that I am pro customization of the summoner job to fit how you feel the job should be. If you don’t like the massive primals and was the help of a small being of light loosely squirrel/domestic cat related then since they have us the option they should keep it an option and not do whatever this is. If you want to fight with massive summons like Ifrit you should be allowed to. And if they actually put work into the glamour system like they promised I’d like to see other options for people. I am pro options because without the options my personal options of the job wouldn’t exist.
