PvP Rewards New and Old - Why repeat past mistakes?

Have you considered that the alternative might not be new content but nothing at all?

It is zero additional work to re-run an old event or give people continued access to a digital item that has already been designed and added to the game. They can afford to re-run events more easily and often than they can make new ones, and they can repeat them on whatever schedule they like.

When they do bring back things like the FFXV event, it doesn't displace new content but provides the "end-of-patch dead period" entertainment in place of the usual moogle tomestone collectathon.

Actually believe it or not the garo gear went away because the license deal expired. So there was work involved in bringing it back. And you’re a bit naive to think it doesn’t displace new content. The alternative is not nothing at all. That’s really sad if you think that way.

At least people seem to acknowledge what this was though, a copy and paste event. Because it was easier. And yep, that’s what we have. Look forward to everything being copy and paste in the future. We get more and more reused gear and assets each expansion anyway.

As long as people can rationalize it away and be happy with less then that’s exactly what they’ll give us. Less. It’s easier.

Conversely, I think it's naive to think that if they never reused old content, that would mean they can produce new content at the same rate instead. The production costs would have to be redirected from elsewhere in the game.

GARO is an exception to the usual rule of returning events, which are mostly... well, we only have three others, but two of them are Final Fantasy property and don't need licensing.
