The Dead Ends is brutal for tanks, I end up quitting any random queues for this duty

It can be rough, but I've never had it as rough as that and I've played on all the tanks.

It's important to understand some people aren't going to be as geared up as they should, so DPS might be lacking sometimes.

Some just need help learning the fights, so you do what you can.

If you don't like getting this on Expert, just queue the other two 90s on DF.

A tank should never be the healer for the dungeon. That some people consider this normal is horrible.

While this is normally true....the PLD is built to be able to do that without an issue. If you're not doing it then you're not using your full kit and should be ashamed. Clemency at the very least serves as somewhat of a tank cooldown. (GNB gets a 10% reduction, PLD gets Clem - which is actually better imo)

Just to add, as a GNB, with significantly less self healing than you have as a PLD, I have not once had any issue with Dead Ends except on Day 1 when NOBODY knew what to do.

It’s just new players to the job/dungeon probably.
I don’t think it’s the dungeon’s fault, it just happens to be a dungeon every EW player will have unlocked.
It’s got some doom mechanics that not everyone knows, especially if they are just now getting to 90 content.

On the internet, assume the best possible explanation, not the worst. If they are new to healing, people are going to die. Don’t take it personally. Only give advice out of kindness if you think you know something that they don’t, like a doom mechanic.

To be fair, you aren’t “new to healing” at level 90. A better description would just be “new to the dungeon” when it comes to not understanding mechanics, like the Doom mechanic in the first boss.

If you're the tank and your group is wiping 5 times on the last boss, I would have said whatever and just soloed it, especially if on PLD or WAR...

Dead ends is what pops for me for expert roughly 90% of the time. I always tank cause u know, tank mounts. I dont recall ever having an issue, let alone to the degree of having to vote abandon or eat a 30 min penalty. Mark urself and stand in the right spots if ur team is particularly bad.

I usually get this dungeon in expert roulette and have yet to wipe in this dungeon. I have seen the healer die a few times (usually to the second boss), but Clemency was enough to keep myself and the DPS alive for the entire boss fight.

Could be, but he did mention sage, and could have been netflix rouletted and msq’d to 90.
Even if they dungeon leveled 60 to 90 that’s still not a lot if it’s their first healer

I still don’t consider a SGE in Dead Ends a new player or new to healing. If they were struggling as much as the OP implies healers struggle—which is debatable, since OP’s own mitigation use is up for debate—that’s simply poor play. And what you’re describing is just flat out bad. There’s no excusing that with “new to healing”.
