The fact they they laugh at them before revealing them says a lot.
Maybe it is an April Fools prank. Maybe they really care that little about Hroths. We'll just have to wait and see.
Either way, these are absolute horrendous.

Damn the bald option looks so good. I want thatPersonally I'm quite disappointed in what was shown. It doesn't look good, and it doesn't make sense when they have been perfectly fine with editing some hair meshes for other heads (ie miqote) in the past.
In case anyone is interested, here's how hrothgar heads look bald today:
Unless they have changed how the models is structured for 6.1, the ears as much part of the head as hyur/roe/elezen/lala ears and aura horns.

At least Blizzard knows how to properly do race and gender differences in the hairstyles. Here they just copy the same bad ones they have deemed as "unisex". Yoshi is too afraid not to upset anyone but fails miserably and upsets everyone

Made an acc on the forums just to share my two cents on this, as others have previously.
The MOST I expected was like. Unlocking existing hairs, and one or two unique hroth hairstyles that were custom made for them to avoid ''issues'', according to the devs, like we see with these hairs. After Hrothgar having launched in an unfinished state, where it was the race with the fewest hairs available in total, and only two of them per face, meaning you have to pay actual, real world money just to change your hair ONCE, a limitation that no other race has that is essentially just punishing us for playing Hrothgar, and after repeated ''please be patient and wait'' statements, it felt like at the very least, we could expect something along those lines, yet here we are, with ported hairs without ears and not even an official statement (that I know of) that the existing hairs will be unlocked for use, either with or without fantasia.
I honestly wouldn't even have minded waiting for longer if atleast it meant we got unique hair that had effort put into it, instead of hairs that have even members of the community that do not play Hrothgar go either ''wow, I feel so sorry for you all'' or ''do you REALLY think these are the actual hairs? It's obviously this year's April Fools joke.''
I've been playing this game since some time after Stormblood's release, and the sheer quality of the game, and seeing the dev team's dedication and passion for it made me trust and respect them, so I genuinely had faith that waiting would pay off in the end.
But now, this is the first time I feel that trust has been betrayed and both me and other Hroth players have received what's essentially a slap to the face from the dev team.
(Ofc, disclaimer that I don't want anyone to ACTIVELY send hate to or wish ill on Yoshida or anyone else on CBU3 for this, I'm just immensely disappointed and hope that voicing these concerns will prevent the problems from repeating or getting worse over time.)

Hey guys! We care so little about this race so we forgot the ears. Like when we forgot about characters having tailsSo sorry! And because all of you guys are whining so much like Karens, we give you all the Karen hairstyles tee hee

I keep reading that this might not be worth the effort because Hrothgar aren't played by a lot of people in comparison to others. But I can't stop wondering how many people would actually like to play them if their customisation options weren't so damn limited that you have to spend real world money on a Fantasia if you want to get a new look...? When I started the game I created a Hrothgar for the first five levels or so but then went for Miqo'te when I needed a character for the server my friends were at. When I got the free Fantasia I decided to keep it, so I can switch to a Hrothgal, should they ever be released one day. (It was at the beginning of 2020, so before anything was announced.) Eventually I recreated my Hroth as an alt and I love him to bits, but seeing how vastly different the customisation options are and that they even can't wear a lot of face gear that suits for Viera, I don't think I'll use that Fantasia on my main anytime soon. And I could imagine that I'm not the only player who decided against a Hrothgar main for these reasons. :/
What I don't get is, if they know what the core problem is with Hrothgar, and clearly have a lot of money at their disposal now with Shadowbringers and Endwalker both being huge successes, why don't they make room for solving this core problem first? Detaching hair and faces would really pay off on the long term and make it easier to adjust new hairstyles, so they do not look like wigs. And yes, I know how much work this is, I learned a bit about 3D art at university, I know that this is a big step. But we are not talking about an indie studio with severely limited budget.
