I know im being too much of the pessimistic person but should we really care at this point? Yoship doesn't and a large part of the community is apathetic to the situation so it feels kinda pointless and futile.

A quote came to mind as my students are reading about him.
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
-- Dr. Seuss, "The Lorax"
"Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."

Make them care, then. Be loud about it, in-game and out of game. Constantly mention the shitty comments the director has had. Mention how boring it is a lot. Post on social media about it. Post everwhere about it. Be loud and annoying and try to sway the general consensus this way. The squeaky wheel gets the grease after all. Yell from the mountaintops about how shit healer is in this game, if you have to. Just make it known and heard, over and over and over, until the devs actually do something about it. Hell, bring it up every time someone talks about the game anywhere, if you really want to drive it home.

At this point, we have two options left. Be as loud and constant as possible so these complaints become increasingly difficult to dismiss, or quit the role entirely to force change. The latter is unlikely to work due to healers being necessary for queues. The fact this thread is still going though is a genuine positive. It's keeping attention on the issue.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Also, it may or may not be worth mentioning, but in the new Crystal Conflict PVP mode, healers are pretty much unnecessary as per the famitsu interview that was recently released.
There's not a whole lot that was said about it, but paraphrasing from what I remember, the interviewer basically asked that since every class would have it's own healing ability, were healers not necessary? And Yoshida's answer was quite flatly "Yes" and he went on a bit to say that keeping people unable to fight was a big point of the content and healers would still have healing abilities because.. they're healers.. (this info actually comes from the previous question, but still... it's kinda given =p)
I don't really play much in the way of PVP content so I don't know how many people care about this, but if healers are unnecessary in PVP and even in PVP they're supposed to get healing abilities... and presumably their 1 dps skill... wouldn't having healers be more of a detriment to the party? *shrug* I honestly don't know. Part of me wants to say no since if you don't need healers, more damage would definitely be better... but... I dunno.
Here is the relevant quote:
Sorry for the rough translation, I'm a bit distracted right now. >< Anyway, take this how you will. As a non PVP'er I don't have much opinion either way it just seems kinda "meh" to create a whole style of content where healers not being necessary seems to be one of the points.――全ジョブが回復手段を持つということは、ヒーラー自体が必須ではないということでしょうか?
If all jobs have the ability to heal themselves, are healers, themselves, not necessary?
Yes. In Crystal Conflict, the main point is to get the crystal in the middle of the map to your opponent's area. Rendering your opponents unable to fight will be necessary in order to move the crystal, but it (killing your opponents) won't be needed to achieve victory. It's a gameplay similar to capturing and stopping your opponents at key areas. Another thing to note is that the team that is at a disadvantage will have shortcuts available for their use, too.

This is the heart of the problem. Yoshi P doesn’t play healers and most of the dev team doesn’t heal. They also don’t seem to care about making healing engaging to anyone except people who’ve never played a video game before.Yoshida's statements about healers have been a real-life version of that "guy putting on clown makeup" meme.
"The SCH is doing nothing but DPS and forcing the poor WHMs to heal." (Provably false if you spend five minutes looking at logs for any fight.)
"We couldn't really do anything with SCH." (Ignoring multiple threads offering suggestions on improving SCH, not to mention ignoring the possibility of just giving them back their damn DoTs.)
"If you want fun, engaging content as a healer, go play Ultimate." (Because it's apparently okay for an entire role to be boring to play in 95% of the game's content, and only the tank and DPS jobs are allowed to have fun.)
"Oh yeah, we kicked the healer out of our playtesting group for being too good." (Were you afraid they might discover the same problems also discovered by any healer with more brains than a bowl of lukewarm oatmeal? Or do you just sincerely believe that all healers, everywhere, are Epsilon-Minus Semi-Morons?)
What I said before has been proven true: all decisions about healing in this game are made from the POV of the healed, not the healer. As long as YoshiderP's BLM gets healed to full after every little boo-boo, he sees nothing wrong with the role. Not only does the man clearly not understand how healers are played in his own game, he also clearly has no interest in the role whatsoever.
Referencing his famous GDC slide from eight years ago ("Running an MMO is like running a country"), while he might live in the same country (game) as his subjects (players), he sure as hell doesn't live in the same province as the healers. He's the guy in Idaho wondering why Chicagoans complain about crime being so high when his town is perfectly safe. And if he doesn't want to play healers in his own game, why the hell should we? I quit healing three years ago. The "Has anyone quit healing?" thread on the healer board has reached 109 pages. Skilled players are dropping the role because it's boring and the devs have made it very obvious they don't care. At some point, this is going to seriously hurt the game, just as Blizzard's overconfidence and arrogance hurt WoW.

The latter will never work because ffxiv gains new players who don’t play mmos and will eat up new healing faster than it loses veteran healers.
Job changes presented in todays Letter:
WHM
-Cure III and Asylum's ranges will be increased to 10 yalms
-Liturgy of the Bell will now be able to manually detonated for heals based on the number of remaining stacks
SCH
-Sacred Soil's range has increased to 10 yalms
-Expedience's sprint effect has been reduced from 20 seconds to 10 seconds.
...That's all? :/

4 changes that are mostly irrelevant/qol and do not tackle the problems healers have at all, did you expect something else from these devs?Job changes presented in todays Letter:
