Stuff like this makes me wish they were stricter with the owning requirements and didn't grandfather people in. Same thing with the duo that owns a whole ward in the Goblet on Mateus.

House owners already have do pay a tax, its called monthly sub. Unlike other players we cant just take 3 months off without losing our house.

It is genius on SE's end to keep supply low and demand high. Look at this way:

There's about 70 servers. Each server has 4 cities, 24 wards, 60 plots per ward which is 5760 plots per server. Well under the demand of the playerbase. No one wants to lose their house. The vast majority of those players will pay that sub even if they aren't actively playing in fear of losing a piece of digital real estate that is hard to come by.

5760 plots per server and about 70 servers. That's 400,000 plots across all servers. Each of those 400,000 plots are paying about $15/mo. That's $6M US every month coming to SE. And with the addition of Isghard (70 x 1440 plots) that is likely another $1.5M per month on top of that. They have people paying them for not playing the game. Genius.

*** Obviously some houses are owned by FCs but it still requires at least one FC member to pay a sub to keep it. I rounded down on most of this to account for people like that Lucius FC that has 60 houses.

I promise you not all of us are paying a sub solely to keep a house. Some of us actually enjoy the rest of the game so we're paying to play.

You also don't have to stay constantly subbed to keep a house. Sub for a month, unsub for 6 weeks, keep rotating on that schedule. As long as you reset the timer the first and last day of your subbed month, you have nothing to worry about. Don't forget to take advantage of demolition suspensions (funny how often demolition gets suspended if SE is using housing to force people to keep a sub) and the free log in periods when they line up with your unsubbed periods so you can log in, reset the timer and take an extra unpaid month off.

It's not SE's genius at work. There are too many exceptions in the system for houses to be intended to keep people subbed.

It's the idiocy of the average consumer at work. They're happy to keep paying money solely to own something they do not need and almost never use when they could be putting the money to better use.

A: Only the three who have been members for at least 30 days can enter the lottery. Other members will be able to participate upon passing the 30-day mark.


Q: We currently only have three free company members. If we add one more member now to make it four, would we be eligible to enter the lottery for free company housing?

A: Yes. However, only those who have been free company members for at least 30 days are eligible to submit an entry.


Q: Does the requirement "You must have been a member of your free company for 30 days or longer" apply to free company masters?

A: Yes.


Q: Is there a Grand Company rank requirement to submit an entry for a free company plot?

A: No.


Q: What happens if multiple free company members enter the lottery for multiple free company plots and we win more than one?

A: You will need to choose one of the winning plots and then complete the purchase procedure. The other plots will be treated as "failing to claim your plot of land during the results period despite having won the lottery" and a 50% cancellation fee will be deducted from the deposit paid at entry.


Q: What happens if multiple free company members apply for one plot and win?

A: Every member holds a unique lottery number and only the member who has the winning number can proceed with the purchase. Other members will not be selected and will receive a 100% refund of the deposit paid at entry.

Hmmmm, I like the 50% cancellation fee being applied to plots won, but not purchased by, an FC due to multiple members applying for multiple plots on the FC's behalf. Hopefully this will go at least a little way toward one-plot, one-kill and not shotgunning. Granted 1.5-2.5 million penalty for a small isn't significant, but 10 and 25 million for a medium and large aren't anything to sniff at.

It still needs a Penalty for FC's that have huge winning power via members, maybe make it so if the plot is won, everyone else only gets 50% Gil refunded.

Yoshi wants to reward the biggest FCs. He won't penalise them for winning, but cheer it instead. After all, it was going to be 100% loss on winning multiple plots, but he's reduced it to 50% loss on winning multiple plots.

However, don't worry, as there will be separated FC wards and Personal wards, they won't be able to take a personal house, just win against other FCs.

The interesting part will be the split! Will SE make it 90% FC wards and 10% personal wards?
