Me saving up 3 million gil only to find out I won't be able to buy a house unless a bot decides I can
What a crock, man. If the Island Sanctuaries don't have some kind of housing, I'm probably going to have to refill my copium prescription.

Just throwing out there that whales don't care about how much something costs. The people that do participate in this form of house selling do exist and are capable of multi-boxing, buying gil on a moment's notice and spend hundreds on sub fees per month. It might look like effort to you, but it's child's play to them. Some people genuinely just want to be "on top" and will blow exorbitant amounts of money to do so because they can, should check out mobile games with any sort of ranking system..same thing applies.True. But it is WAY more effort than letting some bots clicking the "Buy"-button all the time. And it is still not sure because of the RNG. I doubt, that Gil sellers will do that. You will also need way more payed accounts to do this (costs real money), more chars at level 50 and more Gil involved to be more effective.
Cheers

Just came here to say I hate they are doing entire system lottery after hanging the hope of leaving a few fcfs wards.
Also that I do like the fact they are leaving some plots fc only and some private only.

True. But with the current system everybody can do that. If SQEX opens a new server or data center, the people who are online early can buy all the big and middle sized houses without competition. And then they dictate the prices for them. People who are at work at the time have no chance and must pay higher prices when they want a house. With the new system it does not work anymore because of the RNG. Being a whale will not really help you. It will increase your chance to get a house when you throw many level 50 chars with millions of Gil each against the RNG. But it does not guarantee anything. And selling those houses will also be far more difficult, especially for the buyer. You buy a house for many million Gil and you cannot access it for a longer period of time. Not everybody will do that.Just throwing out there that whales don't care about how much something costs. It's a bandaid fix again. A fairer one that makes RMTers work a lot harder for their money, but still a bandaid over a gushing wound.
SE needs to either give up on neighborhood style housing and finally implement instanced housing, or invest in a lot more hardware in order to open up enough housing for everyone. Nothing short of that is going to be satisfactory.

Yes, you're correct.
The FCs with the most players in a land-purchasing capable rank who can afford to park 50m on each have the best shot at large houses. Some of those FCs may end up being mostly alt accounts. Considering that 1b gil buys 20 tickets to even the most expensive house, rich players/FCs have a considerable advantage here.

If I remember correctly, one character can only place a bid on 1 house.Seems to me that anyone with tons of gil and/or multiple characters with tons of gil will just run around and place entries on every plot they can afford to do so on where as sprouts with barely enough gil to make a play for a single plot just get shafted by this system. This is a week-old, soaked bandaid on what is already a very broken system. It says "one lottery entry per lottery period" but it doesn't specify if that's per plot or just one entry period.
So 1 character won't be able to place on multiple.
Alts however Idunno.
Can't remember reading/hearing anything if the bid is account or not.
