Sucks to be on Materia for this really. Especially for people who gave up houses to move there (luckily i didn't but I do know people who did).

It's the absolute worst possible outcome that the old cities are also lottery on a new datacentre.

When the new NA Datacenter drops, the devs will find out how very quickly people won't be anywhere near as willing to transfer given how they handled Materia. Granted, those without houses will, obviously, take a chance if they're so inclined. Nevertheless, I think we'll see far more hesitation all around. The only benefit, at least, will be DC travel. Which, sadly, Materia doesn't have.

My Fc have scrimped and saved from its founding to have enough in the bank to get a mansion in Empyreum. I’m so fucking proud and thankful to all of them that have helped.

I guess, the RNG system is a lesser evil than the current system. The advantage is, the RNG system kills the incentive for buying a house or maaaany houses with the intention to sell them more expensive afterwards. Because you cannot sell the house to someone anymore, AFAIK. So i expect, that those players who bought the houses for this purpose will try to sell them quickly before 6.1 will be published.

But we will see, how good or bad the new system really is.

Because Lottery will be nigh on impossible to win, I think they will do even more business, and that means they will try even harder to lock out genuine players from fair wins.

The most likely method of house sales will be:

Gil seller makes 20 four person FCs and enters on the FC property 80 times.
Gil seller wins FC plot lottery and looks for buyer.
Buyer pays Gil seller, and the Gil seller promotes him to a custom role with all permissions.
Gil seller deletes his character.
After 45 days the FC lead is passed to the buyer by the game.

I am sure they have worked it out, and will adjust the method to fit in with the new system.

Latency wasn't the only reason to move. I think quite a few moved to have a chance at a house too. Especially on the largest server, Sophia. Materia's role playing server.

They still didn't clarify explicitly if that will apply to all housing districts on Materia but I suspect it does. Perhaps the live letter will make that clear.

Another question and i'm reading it again if people bid on a FC plot does that exclude them from bidding on a personal? It sure sounds like you are only allowed to make one bid period which sucks for those of us who want a FC and possibly a personal.

I can't believe the entirety of housing on new DC's will be lottery. That's just... the absolute worst news. And 5 days? God, why so long? I thought it would be 3 max. Didn't they say that they were going to leave some wards on the timers? What happened to that plan?

I'm so grateful I didn't give up my house for better ping. I am devastated for the people that did.
