Newsflash, sport, I and probably many others who are advocates for the Lottery, know full well that we are unlikely to get houses. The odds are just too great against us. However, those odds exist for EVERYONE and all that many of us have been clamoring for, was a FAIR system. The Lottery is it. I have never said that it was going to make people happy. I seriously doubt other proponents of the Lottery, thought that it would make people happy. It is simply the only fair system that can be put in place when supply can not meet demand. The only way to make people happy who participate in the housing system is to have enough housing to meet demand and until SE fixes THAT problem, there will always be unhappy people with respect to housing.

So unfair FC unlimited participations, this is a pay-to-win system in a MMO with monthly payment. Each house have a workshop and rooms so they don't need any benefit in the loterry. I was hope that they change their minds with this really bad idea but it seems they are going to keep it up. They sould only allowed 1 participation for each FC.

They're never going to fix it. We've had this abysmal system for over six years now and people still make excuses for it, regardless of the iteration. Even now people are praising this change as those it'll fix housing not actually realizing just how staggering low their odds are.

A fair compromise would have been the original FCFS and lottery like they originally were going to do.

I have no doubts that the people who have championed this system will be happy with it. Its gonna be down the road a couple of months when all the houses are taken and those people who fought for a lottery system are still without a house because of RNG will people start to show there discontent.

I'll say that the lotto system is just a little bit fairer and a whole lot healthier than the FCFS only system that we had before but there's one glaring system that could solve the whole housing problem and its on Papa Squenix to pony up the money to make that happen.

I just want everyone to get a house
I want to get the plot I've been eyeing specifically bc I love the curved walkway

I hate the entire housing system in FFXIV. It's horrible and out of touch and extremely out dated. It's not like the devs take the time to actually improve the decoration, apartments or item limits, they don't even care. And they don't care about how frustrated we are because we will keep shelling out a sub and just complain.

No, I don't know the inner workings of a game company but I know it's not easy but I also know they're not a small indie company with limited funding.
They don't listen to the western audiences or look at the forums.

They need to reactivate the demolish timers and people need to protest by cancelling subs, I know I am. IDC if I lose my house, I'm sick of how limited we are in almost everything in this game

We can't use mods but the character creator is really out of date and lacks better options
We have to use bugs and glitches to get the house interiors we want and it's so bad that modders made a program to make it easier.
Raiding and Ultimates feels like the only end-game content available. Not everyone wants to do that and not everyone wants to do the same past content over & over.

There will likely be no plots for the people who don't draw a winning number. How is that okay?
Just demolish the housing system as it is, refund everyone their gil that equals on the plot size and make instanced housing with the servers slotted for the current housing- No, I don't know if that's possible but I am really frustrated at this point.

Sucks to be on Materia for this really. Especially for people who gave up houses to move there (luckily i didn't but I do know people who did).

It's the absolute worst possible outcome that the old cities are also lottery on a new datacentre.

Arillien, I am not sure if this will calm your worries, but it looks like, from the text of the post, that plots will be designated either FC or personal and only those entities (individuals or FCs) for which the plot was designated will be allowed to place bids on them. Now for individuals looking to buy a home, this is a plus because you will not be competing against an FC. For FCs, well, the system looks to be set up to favor large FCs and others have said that SE has indicated that this is a deliberate choice on their part. This is the one area in which it would appear that the Lottery is not fair. To make it fair, FCs would need to be treated as single entities able to purchase only a single ticket. SE appears to not favor this approach though so if FCs want to blame something, blame SE, not the Lottery.
